It is worth your while to get the video on playing the Gong that Yogiji made.

There is other info I can share. The one thing I will share right now is to

"never strike a gong" from a perpendicular angle. Yogiji calls it an

offense and an insult. Always strike from an angle.

Also, KartaPurkh, how long ago was it that you bought your Gong? That is an

amazingly low price? What about your stand?

I'll look for the video. And strangely enough, I seem

to make a practice of striking with a circular stroke

as if the gong were on e the edge of an arc, Sat Nam

Sat Nam Karta Purkh,

Actually, you're playing it correctly. My words were for clarity's sake for

others.

Gurucharan prepared an excellent manual on playing the Gong. I don't know if it

is available. I'll ask. The video is good, also, but the book lays

it out very clearly.

What I wanted to know from you was how you got such a great price and when it

was you bought your Gong.

Sat Nam Dharam Singh:

I bought the gong about 5 years ago at a local Kansas

City percussion shop named Explorer's. I go by that

area about once a week or so and if you like I can

check and see what the price is theses days. It comes

with a mallet and wrought iron stand. Let me know.
