Guest guest
Sat Nam ya'll. Sat Sangeet, I think you just articulated something very important to me. Imagine after 15 years of living with AIDS, I think I might have a little PTSD problem going on here. The part I most related to was talking about the supportive relationship, the "warm hand" I believe you said. Sometimes, like now, in my life I almost literally have to be taken by the hand to most things. That includes my doing yoga at home. It's kinda strange from the inside. I have the energy, I have the desire, but something's got me blocked. I really hate this feeling! It's as if apathy and hypervigilence had a baby. Some navel work might release it, but I'm still dealing with alot of tissue damage on my sacrum, so I can't do the sets that put alot of stress on that area. Lots of leg lifts or using that area as a point of balance just ain't gonna happen for awhile. Trauma is a tricky thing. WHEN I CAN actually take it to the mat, I focus mainly on removing negativity and strengthening my aura. When I can make it out of the house I try to make it as far as the ashram, a whopping 10 blocks! This whole housebound thing is a new manifestation for me and it's making me nuts! I've watched Godzilla vs. Mothra 10 times in the last four days - cause I didn't want to get up and change the tape. Yes, I am seeing my doctor next Friday and getting a Psych referral. Oh boy, yet another fun filled medication change to look forward to! Love n Light, Leo
Guest guest
Sat Nam Leo, I just started reading Gurmukh's book entitled "The Eight Human Talents". She is very down to earth in this book. She talks about disease and illness and how it happens as part of a learning experience. In other words, we are brought to some painful situations to grow. I am only on the second chapter but this book is quite comforting and I slept really well last night. I know what you're talking about when you say that you try to do certain Kriyas and it aggravates an old condition. Remember when I tried to do Inner Anger Kriya? I thought I had finally found the kriya for me and it felt good too. Then, it started to irritate my back condition and I had to stop. Do what you can do and take it slow. Do you have any naad yoga music therapy CD's. They seem to lift my spirit and help me to get through the day. Many blessings to you, Gina
