Hello Rama,

 

indeed Ra-Ma is a very old, very powerful Mantra,

it stands for the Sun (Ra) and the Moon (Ma).

 

Bringing the Sun and the Moon together has

a benificial, healing influence. Its like

combining Gold and Silver in Amulets

or combining Prana and Apana to raise the kundalini,

where the sun is the active masculine Principle and the Moon

the 'negative' assimilating, like in left and right nostril breathing.

Thats why it is also in the Healing Mantra RaMaDaSaSaSaySoHung

 

Chanted in groups RaMA can raise the frequency and bring the

group onto the same Level of Communication, it's done by

chanting Ra - 'A' - Ma - 'A'

The 'A' between is used to bring both powers into manifestation.
