Guest guest
Sat Nam everyone! I have a question that's probably going to sound really weird (actually I'm sure it will sound really weird). We've had discussions in the past about ky affecting dreams. And I've been having some "doozies" lately. But has anyone had dreams in which Yogi Bhajan appears? I would be particularly interested to hear from those on the list who have never met him. I've never met him, never been to solstace or anything like that. And I've had him appear in 3 dreams. Its almost like I'm in the middle of a dream, and all of a sudden he's there out of nowhere. The first time it happened, I was running in the dream from one building to another and walked into a class in which he was teaching and I joined in. The second one I'm in a house and the theme is about babysitting. I walked into the kitchen and Yogi Bhajan is behind the table. And on the table are jars of spices. He was talking to other women in the room and then looked me in the eyes and handed me a jar of cinnamon. I immediately woke up because it felt so real when our eyes met. The third dream I'm laying in bed (fully clothed). Yogi Bhajan is to my left and Bibiji is on his left. Yogi Bhajan rolls over to face me and says something like "what do we have here" and he touches my leg. Next thing I know, I'm standing in front of a group of people introducing myself as Christa. I can't see any of them, but I sense their presence. Then there's a flash to a sanskrit name that floats in front of me, but I don't remember all of it. It began with an H and I'm pretty sure had an M in it. Then the word Kaur came after it. I guessed the rest of the letters, but I think its something like Hanksmut or Hasmuk, maybe. When I first had this dream, I actually sent an email to Ranjit to see if there was a Sanskrit name similar to that. But beyond the name, I'm simply curious if others have dreams in which Yogi Bhajan appears. It would make sense to me if you knew him personally to have him appear in dreams. But the last two dreams felt so real, not dream- like at all. I was just wondering if others have had similar experiences. Christa
Guest guest
First of all I would say you better give Hansmukh Kaur a call on the telephone!!!! There are different kinds of dreams. And it doesn't really matter if you've never met Yogi Bhajan. You've seen his pictures and relate to him by way of kundalini yoga. Yogis live in the inner planes (astral and causal) just as strongly as they live on the physical plane. So when you sleep, you in your astral body can have all kinds of adventures, some of which are remembered or experienced clearly, some of which are garbled, some of which are unconscious. On the inner planes you will interact with lots of characters, primarily those with which you are having strong feelings about. There is also another kind of dream - the most common form - which is the play of desire working itself out in the virtual reality of your subconscious, which is really no different than the world out and around us. It is often hard to tell the difference between the two kinds of dreams, and they are often easily misinterpreted. But if you meditate and let them percolate in the back of your mind, you will distill the meaning. -- In Kundaliniyoga, "spatialagent1 <spatialagent1>" <spatialagent1> wrote: > Sat Nam everyone! > > I have a question that's probably going to sound really weird > (actually I'm sure it will sound really weird). Guest guest
Thanks Seva Simran! > First of all I would say you better give Hansmukh Kaur a call on the > telephone!!!! LOL....wait a minute. Now for a probably dumb question....is there really a person called Hansmukh Kaur?! I hadn't even thought of that as an option.....Do you know someone by that name?! And you are correct, I do recognize his face and associate him with ky. In the first dream, I simply thought he was an aspect of myself or something like that. It felt very dream-like. But the other two were very different. It was almost as if he was really there. I could feel his presence in both of those. I've been thinking about this for awhile now (the last one happened in January). I keep thinking back to Ranjit's beautiful story of YB helping her in camel pose (I think that was it) and how he appeared to her. I'm not real knowledgeable about Astral bodies (or any other body for that matter) so I was curious if what Ranjit saw in the form of YB helping her was similar to the astral body that one would see in dreams. And if so, if others have experienced contact with him in that way. I hadn't even considered that as a way of 'meeting' him until I had these dreams. I also completely understand what you describe about different types of dreams. I've had several, besides the ones of YB, in which I am positive that they were real. They were very different on so many levels, I simply knew they weren't dreams. These last two of YB were like that. And I hadn't even thought about meditating on them (duh). I've been doing a lot of 'mental' work on them though. But I'll begin to meditate on them tonight and see what transpires. Thanks a bunch!! Guest guest
Well I may not be able to contribute a lot of substantial input. But I always know I'm good for a laugh! I can't believe there is a person named Hansmukh Kaur. I'm sitting at the computer now and stairing at the screening and thinking......"ok, now what?!" I'm beginning to feel like I"m in the twilight zone......do you hear that music (do do do do do do do do) Christa
Guest guest
Christa, Next step is to write him for a name. The day before I got my name in late May '86, I had a bit of a revelation that may be similar to yours, with the main difference being that I was awake (but groovin' to a rough bass line, and my own sense of time....scooby dooby doo) I was in Anchorage, Alaska at the spring Tantric and it was lunch break. I was sitting at the same table with a Dharam who used to live there. I had observed that this individual didn't do like other Sikhs in the community. He didn't live in the Ashram, he lived in a TeePee. He didn't have a car and the car payments, he hitch-hiked. He was the only bachelor. In general, he carried himself very differently. I was curious about him because I felt a kinship with him that I didn't feel with most Sikhs. I was one who was on the outside peakin' in. I asked him what his named meant. He said "one committed to righteousness and duty". I thought that didn't sound like much fun and what a crimp that must be in his style. I responded to him with a somewhat unexcited "wow...... I bet I get the same name". Cause you see, intuitively I knew I needed to get more solid and one of the meanings of Dharam/Dharma is "the Rock of compassion that sustains the Universe". Yup, just don't put a badge on me. Funny how things work. Dharam P.S. More later on this very interesting weekend which I have come to call "Defragging Dharam".... as I have promised another frequent poster to this list. Guest guest
Don't worry Sat Sangeet. I never suspected that you were laughing at me. I knew what you meant. I was merely 'jabbing' myself as well! Christa

Guest guest
Sat Nam, Two more "name" stories: I got my name a few weeks after movin into an ashram and maintaining a regular sadhana. I knew, just knew my name (destiny) lay somewhere in the Mool Mantra, I just knew it!!! And then, a friend of mine, we'd come to the dharma at the same time, after a White Tantric and he wanted a "really great name, not one of those regular one word names," he said. He wound up with Siri Nam, the Great Pure Name of God. And so, we do determine our own name/destiny when we embark on the spiritual path??? --- Dharam Singh <dharam wrote: > Christa, > Next step is to write him for a name. > The day before I got my name in late May '86, I > ===== KPS Khalsa "If you can't see GOD in all, You can't see GOD at all."
