Guest guest
>Ranjit; What I mean by that comment is that we are presented with situations, positive or negative, and we "move" in relation to the situation. Once the moment is gone, it's gone, period. What we have is the data collected in memory to help us the next time we have a similar situation. Time moves forward. I used to spend alot of time reliving my disappointments, embarassments, joys, successes, etc. It still never changed the fact that I acted to the situation the way I did, so why continue reliving it? Going forward and doing my best to remain in spirit at all moments, helps me to improve on myself. I can browbeat myself or pat myself on the back; neither one will help me to be a better person. It's always the next action that tells what kind of person I really am, not the ones before. That's why I was wondering (kind of asking if anyone else felt this way); is it the experience and our action to it that is important, rather than our reflection of the two? Guest guest
I see what you mean, Swami Kaur....The "reflection" that you are speaking of is a "living in the past"...a constant reliving of a moment that has long since past and with that time passing, has gone your ability to change the affects of that prior action. So you release it (dettach/let go) and continue to live in the present moment and hopefully having distilled wisdom from your past actions and the effects they produced, you move forward able to respond in new more Soul affirming ways. Forever evolving your Soul. Not living the past over and over again but through a newly gained broader perspective, responding to whatever is appearing to you in the present moment. It's the art of being human...living in the "Now". With all that said...there is the "distilling" process that needs to take place in order to be able to "let go"...but in time one's ability to do that in the blink of an eye improves...until we simply flow with life and with what comes and goes...relaxing the desire to "hold on" to our memories of the pleasant and unpleasant in our lives. Guest guest
Sat Sangeet, I was once told that to tell a story from one's past the first time is a wonderful cleansing. To tell the same story again and again is telling "war stories". It gets old even for the story teller.
