Guest guest
Sat Nam, A student asked me for tips in dealing with arthritis. Aside from drinking Golden Milk, cold showers, diet, omega 3 fish oils, MSM, and doing KY and meditation, does anyone have any more suggestions? Any specific meditations? Another student has severe problems with her feet. She feels her problems are caused by emotional/spiritual issues. Can anyone comment on underlying causes, and possible treatment. She also has kidney problems, and we have been doing KY kidney kriyas. Thank you, Nirmal Kaur
Guest guest
Mark, Any suggestions as to what she can do to relieve her pain? I suggested reflexology, and I looked up feet in Louise Hay's book, "Heal Your Body." They represent our understanding -- of ourselves, of life, of others. Ankles represent inflexibility and guilt. They also represent the ability to receive pleasure. Thank you for the information! Sat Nam, Nirmal Kaur

Guest guest
Tell your student to try out Glucosamine supplements. They come in sulfate caplets or capsules at any pharmacy and a good dose in 500mg daily. That's what I take along with many other supplements. Glucosamine is naturally produced by the liver but it's good to take supplements. It really helps to prevent arthritis, osteoarthritis. It it said to fight cartilage deterioration between joint bones and helps tissues form again in these areas. here is a good site: http://www.arthritis-glucosamine.net/ peace, Hun Oc - <PamENixon <Kundaliniyoga> Thursday, March 06, 2003 12:49 AM Re: Kundalini Yoga Questions from Students > Sat Nam, > A student asked me for tips in dealing with arthritis. Guest guest
Sat Nam, Just a side note of interest pertaining to "feet and spirituality". I find it interesting that your student should think that her problems with her feet would be related to "emotional/spiritual issues". In Western Astrology, the planet Neptune and sign Pisces (spirituality, psychic abilities, illusion, substances or devices that alter perception and consciousness, subconscious, movies, and many other things) both rule the feet. It would be interesting to ascertain where both the planet and sign lie in her chart as well as to see if there are any planets or transits in her 12th house which is the natural placement of both Neptune and Pisces. As I have had "issues" occur with myself involving these 3 aspects of astrology and affecting my feet!In addition, all are naturally ruled by water, which is related to the emotions. Aside from drinking There were quite a few suggestions on dealing with arthritis in the past months, on and off. Check the archives from last August. > > > Another student has severe problems with her feet. I would suggest this exercise. Lie in savasana or sit with legs outstretched. Step 1: Bend the foot forward ( the stretch is in line with the shin), as much as possible. Hold the stretch for 5 long, deep and slow breaths. Step 2: Do a counter stretch by flexing the foot backward. Try to push out the soles as much as possible, such that the toes and heels are stretched backwards as much as possible. Also, try to spread the toes as much as possible. Hold the stretch for 5 breaths. Step 3: Angle the foot to the left of the shin, and do steps 1 and 2. Step 4: Angle the foot to the right of the shin, and do steps 1 and 2. The above steps will increase blood flow to all the portions in the feet, and is an excellent exercise in dealing with cracks and strengthening the feet. Besides, as lot of nerves from different organs end up at the feet(reflexology is based on this concept), this is an exercise in improving the functioning of not just the feet but many organs in your body. You can do similar exercises with the hands too. Remember to do the stretches to the point of discomfort, and not pain. With regular practise, you will notice improvements and increased flexibility. gai Tax Center - forms, calculators, tips, more http://taxes./
Guest guest
Sat Nam, According to Adele Davis, taking pantothenic acid helps with foot pain and soreness. Mil
Guest guest
Blessings, There have been many positive studies recently on the benefits of Kaishore Guggulu for arthritis. It is an Ayurvedic preparation. The student feeling as if the foot problem is emotional/spiritual?? Is (she) walking a path she is not happy with? Guest guest
Thank you Rebecca for the info. I think the student with the foot problems is very fearful of moving forward on her path. She wants to do kriyas and meditations for the kidneys and feet and see what comes up. Sat Nam, Nirmal Kaur

Guest guest
I have never read or heard about MSM before, but I suppose it can work just as well as Glucosamine. I just read a bit about MSM and they say that it's also naturally produced in the human body. It's an organic form of naturally-occuring sulfur. The difference between the two are that Glucosamine will promote the regeneration of cartilage, while MSM acts more as a pain relief and anti-inflammatory for arthritic cartilage. peace, Hun Oc - <PamENixon <Kundaliniyoga> Friday, March 07, 2003 3:18 PM Re: Kundalini Yoga Questions from Students > Thank you for your suggestion to take Glucosamine supplements.
