Guest guest
Hi there once again, I have a student looking for sets of KY yoga for OCD, obsessive compulsive disorder, I believe she said. It seems like any of what we do would help that but I really don't know what the disorder is about. Can anyone help with this? Thank You Siri Tapa Kaur
Guest guest
OCD is for obsessive compulsive disorder ( such as worrying about excessive cleanliness obsessively). The problem is due to over/under stimulation of cingulate gyrus (which is present in the front portion of the brain). The cingulate is responsible for ablility to shift attention from idea to idea, and ability to move with flow and cooperate. When this functions abnormally, the person tends to be obsessively focussed on one thing ( unable to shift "gears"). The best way is to have all parts of the brain evenly energized ( the left-right brain combinedly is 10-20 times more efficient, than just stimulating one part of the brain).amo The facial exercises I had suggested earlier ( in response to Leo's problem with hearing ) should improve the amount of blood flowing to all parts of the brain. This should help with OCD too, in my opinion. gai

Guest guest
Hi Siri Tapa, I don't have much technical expertise with Obsessive Compulsive Disorder, (aside from my own garden variety neurosis), but I would emphasize to her that KY will gradually strengthen her nervous system, making her less dependent on these behaviors which for her seem to reduce her anxiety. Then I would give her the standard types of classes, focusing on building navel energy and reorganizing habits. 7 wave Sat Nam meditation (in Sadhana Guidelines) is good for changing habits. How does that sound? Guest guest
OCD is a obssesive compulsive disorder in which the person is doomed to repeat motions, hand washing, ideas about lines in sidewalks and whatever you can imagine as a repetitious habit without end. It interferes with socialization, life progress, relationships etc. It takes a lot of work and often medication to get them to change and some persons never can change.
