Guest guest
Dear Souls: I would like to ask for your help in deciphering a recent dream of mine regarding grace. My hope is for at least a referral to a spiritual source where I can research its meaning myself, unless someone among us has training with dreams. Since last September, I have had a series of about 8 abstract dreams regarding spirit and the radiant, resplendent soul as a crown of jewels turning to face eternity, each dream evolving and becoming more complex then the last. I've had no trouble with their interpretations, until now. This dream came with its own title: The Three Stages of Grace. Background is solid dark. In the middle of this dark vastness of space (perhaps a form of eternity?) is a large and rather wide staircase of all white steps. Three women are sitting at different levels on the staircase. What is curious is that they are all identical in shape, form, clothing, pose, and countenance, like cutout paper dolls. Their hair is dark, styled on top of the head similar to the ancient Greek goddesses. They wear long flowing dark dresses that are tucked under their knees while sitting in rock pose, eyes cast downward in humility. I don't recall what arms and hands are doing, but they are probably relaxed in the lap or are dropped and hang at the sides. One woman sits on a step close to the top of the staircase and over to the right-hand side. One sits two steps lower and to the left side, and the third sits a couple more steps toward the bottom and off to the right, so they zigzag down steps: top right, middle left, and bottom right, with spacing of 1-2 steps in between each woman. The entire white staircase is heavily strewn with red rose petals upon which the women sit in contemplation, bodies slightly turned toward the right. When I awoke, what I thought was curious is that my ego wanted to change these women into youth, mid-age and older wise-age. I knew that this wasn't the right thing to do, and after rethinking, I decided the women were identical because of an internal shift that was taking place, or needed to take place, or about to take place, or has already taken place (?). My perplexion is in needing to know why would grace take form in 3 identical women in a dream? What are the stages about? What is grace about? Please, any help getting me unstuck is deeply appreciated. I know I'm supposed to interpret my own meanings, but I have a feeling that this will take more than the usual Jungian interpretation. Oh, yes, I paint my dreams and write artist statements about them, but I'm quite lost here and humbled by it all. So, thank you, thank you all. Guest guest
>Dear Nancy I will share with you what came to my mind while reading about your dream, thankyou for sharing it with us. Perhaps the darkness behind is like the darkness that we are in when grace becomes a light in our lives like the stair case the three woman where sitting on. Also darkness is like the womd, the void, the place of all potential. It is in our greatest hours of darkness that all possibilities exsist. Grace comes to us then as a shinning white light, a stair case offered with steps for us to walk up out of our darkness. The woman are all the same for it matters not how often we are blessed, or graced with that staircase we are always the same. ie. in darkness, in despair. They could be all the same for grace does not bless us more or less depending on where we are on those steps. To me she does not discriminate or withhold her blessing based on where I am in my life. Grace simply showers all equaly. There are no levels to her, all she needs for to shine down upon us is our need for her. Perhaps they look like goddesses because we are gods and goddeses, and maybe there is also the message that we can all turn and look up, and climb those stairs, realising that we are supported by grace. A good lesson for me. The darkness is behind, so instead of sitting and looking forlorn, or concentrating on it, we could celebrate the briiliant white steps that lead upwards. many blessings. Guest guest
I found myself thinking about your dream so I thought I might pass this on. There is a realm of grace, a fourth level of reality from which grace flows. It requires the humbling of yourself in the the first three levels, because in each of those levels there is still identification with matter - with ego. At the level of grace, one sheds identification with the ego completely - the ultimate act of humbling ones self. It struck me that the three ladies were all in a position of humility. It is also probably useful to remember that many spiritual traditions put a feminine face on the soul and in Yogi Bhajan's thinking women are often called the Grace of God.
