A while back I began writing an article for AT about the ways KY can

help kick addictions. In the course of writing this article, I began

to experience a great amount of stress in my own life due to job loss

and uneasiness with the economy and the war. So I reached for my old

friends--cigarettes and the occasional xanax, so I'm back at square

one. I'm still working on the article and others for AT, but feel

like a hypocrite, as I am still trying to kick these bad behaviors

myself. My KY practice has fallen behind. All I ask of my brothers

and sisters out there is to put out some good energy so I can once

again find my creativity. And thanks to all who have supplied me thus

far with their own experiences.

I'll be back.

Siri Deva Singh,

I feel for you. Cigarettes are one of the hardest addictions to

kick. I have always said that quitting smoking is easy...I do it at

least a couple of times a year. The challenge is not starting up

again. But you already know this. Anyway, I just wanted to let you

know my thoughts are with you, as I am also struggling with this.

Don't lose heart...Sat Nam, Karin

Addictions to smoking substances, eating, drinking, sex, pastimes, talking

nonsense, watching nonsense,

thinking nonsense about others or ourselves or how we want something

thinking this will make us happy.

Having your Kundalini awaken is the time to experience the void or

sanctuary that one enters into at death.

So when that person is gone but still loves you, you are practicing being in

the sanctuary. Also you are practicing how not to use people for your

selfish needs and how not to be used for others selfish needs. Love people

not things, use things dont use people. Beyond inner.

Please do not think you are back at square one. it's just not so. Healing from

addiction is just that--healing, and its a process. don't think "relapse";

think "another step in your healing journey." Every "relapse" is telling you

something, and the more and longer you do ky, the more you are able to get the

message.

I've been fighting alcohol addiction for some time, and I've found my path, but

I have tripped from time to time. Still each time, I have been able to look back

and see things I could not see before. Despite the trips, overall, my healing

has progressed--and yours will too.

Thank you for your kind words. I've slowly brought myself out of that

funk from earlier this week, and it's been through ky. Thank you so

much for responding to my note.

one other thing. there are no coincidences. that all this came up while you

are working on an article for AT is no exception. Instead of thinking of

yourself as a hypocrite, use what this experience has taught you--it may belong

in that article!

oh, and I didn't mean to sound like "relapse" is a necessary part of the healing

process. Lots of folks learn their lessons without it. Indeed, ky and mantra

are a key to learning our lessons without it. It's just that, some of us with

very stubborn egos insist on learning the hard way!

God Bless, and I will look forward to your article.
