Guest guest
Sat Nam Nirmal, I am also experiementing with "sound as healing"...within a KY class, music is the medium that I use...imparticular Ky mantras....if the music is just right....it can take us into a deeper meditative state I have observed...and I just work intuitively with that. Outside of class my interest continues though....As I do practice healing modalities, as the other half of my occupation. After reading that book "The Mozart effect" it got me to thinking more about something they called "toning". Last week I was feeling "full" of emotion and decided to give it a try....so I picked up my guitar, began to play a chord progression over and over again and just began to make sounds that soothed or expressed what was inside of me....in time a mantra began to emerge in the space and as I continued to sing, hum and chant it...words began to form. In the end I ended up with a song...and one that really elevates me when I sing it to myself as well. If I hadn't sat down and tried to express myself in this way...I may never had found this "song" that was within me? So I don't know how what I just shared helps you...maybe it's just to say...yeah..as healers we need to really open to the possiblities of sound as a healer...and of course we do that totally.. when we chant KY mantras...but my thoughts are always streaming out to..."how do we begin to bring this into the mainstream?" How can I express or transmit a level of consciousness in my work, whether that is in healing or art? Are you wondering which mantra emerged?....Gobinde Gobinde hari hari...(God my sustainer and support of all)...kinda fits my situation eh? Guest guest
Sat Sangeet, I have taken courses in toning, and it is very powerful. I felt blissed out afterwards, like after meditation. Next question: which mantras are you using during relaxation? I am in need of more music for relaxation. Thank you for your input. Guest guest
Sat Nam Nirmal...Yes, I'd like to learn more about toning! During LDR I often use..."Aadays Tisai Aadays" and "Aad Gurey Nameh...."(on Prem Snatam Kaur).... Golden temple of Amritsar (Peace family, Carry us Home)....Guru Guru Wahe Guru Guru Ram Das Guru (Mata Mandir, Relaxation).....Aad gurey nameh (Singh Kaur Peace Lagoon)....Crimson collection Vol 6&7 or mender of hearts on vol 4&5 (Singh Kaur)....Ardaas bhaee (Miracles and healing Hari Bhajan) To name a few... Those are my favorites...You can't go wrong with either Prem or Matamandir relaxation....these two are favorites of all my students. And then I use alot of others as well...during class and during the LDR. Hope that helps! Sat Nam, Sat Sangeet PamENixon wrote:Sat Sangeet, I have taken courses in toning, and it is very powerful.
