Guest guest
Has anyone heard of the word Hathor or hawthore before (this may be a phoenetic spelling of it)? and what it means? and also if there is any relationship with it, to mysticism, healing, Kundalini yoga, egotism or power? While I'm asking, might as well inquire about another word. Is there such a word as "pranyogi"? Thanks! Sat Sangeet
Guest guest
Hi Satsangeet, Hathor is an Egyptian Goddess, so this may or may not be what you're looking for, but here's a link if you want to pursue it: http://www.geocities.com/Athens/Acropolis/8669/hathor.html Never heard of hawthore, but the Hawthorn tree has many magical attributes in western occultism. Hope this helps. ----- Has anyone heard of the word Hathor or hawthore before (this may be a phoenetic spelling of it)? and what it means? and also if there is any relationship with it, to mysticism, healing, Kundalini yoga, egotism or power? Guest guest
Sat Nam Sat Sangeet, Hathor is the mother - godess of the ancient egyptians originally described as the daughter of Ra. She is often associated with a cow or woman with horns of a cow and the sun disc in between, representing the sun as the Ka, both the body and soul. She was both good and bad and as the divine mother she was regarded as mother of the Pharaoh but was primarily the mother-godess associated with pleasure, joy, sexuality and music.(The Tutankhamun Prophecies by Maurice Cotterell) love and light marily sat atma Sponsor "OUR DESTINY IS TO BE HAPPY" - Yogi Bhajan To UNSUBSCRIBE from this list, please send a blank email to Kundaliniyoga NO UNSUBSCRIBE REQUESTS TO THE LIST PLEASE!> WEB SITE: kundalini yoga KUNDALINI YOGA ON-LINE TRAINING. Guest guest
If you want to experience the power of pran yogi, oh pran yogi, try this meditation. But only do it for 11 minutes. Put the thumbs on the mercury mounds. Then join the fingertips all the way to the first knuckle. It is a kind of modified prayer mudra. The thumbs from the tips to the first knuckle should press against each other. Put this mudra in front of the chest. Look at the tip of the nose. Inhale in eight parts through the nose. Exhale out the mouth, slowly with a bit of a whistle. As soon as you make the mudra you should feel the akasha tattwa (space element) expand, and then when you do the pranayam you connect with the flow of prana. Very good for the 7th and 8th bodies. Not so good if you have really earthy things to do because the earth will probably feel somewhat less important to you. Pran yoga is a branch of kundalini yoga. Myself, I have not taught it very much because most people don't seem to relate unless they have had experience with energy stuff already. Thanks for opening the door. Guest guest
Wow! That's quite a meditation, Seva Simran....I was singing like Julie Andrews after that....does a little something for the pranic body! I see what you mean about the mudra...I started to read your directions and was following along, trying the mudra as I read your e-mail...and I was getting all woo woo right away....I immediately went Whoa! shake it off...shake it off!! I still have errands to run and groceries to get this morning! Ha! ha! One of the effects I noticed was a feeling of containment...or sustainment? I wrote some words in a song a while ago, where I'm talking to God and I say....contain me, sustain me and lift me up...and after I wrote them I didn't really know what I meant by the words, contain me....and I had an experience of what it is like to be contained by the Divine with this meditation...it was very comforting...thank you for sharing it with me.
