Guest guest
Hi, I am a beginner and I have tried to find information on this on the web and in the archives but have not succeeded. It has been advised that women in the first 3 days of their menstrual period should not perform kriyas/meditation that raise the energy, since during that time the energy is going downwards. What are the meditations that are included? Does it include all meditations that pull the root lock? Is sodharsan kriya included? What about sat kriya? I'd like to practise some of the kriyas/meditations for 40 days, but it seems that my continuation will be broken by my menstrual period. I will be grateful for advice on this. Thank you!! Guest guest
Sat Nam Jun! Well I guess I'll answer you, as know one else seems to want to reply?? (Maybe it's the topic? Ha ha!) This doesn't come out of any book..just my personal experience. My understanding is that we don't want to over tax the pelvic area during menses, as you've stated....so when I am practicing a med or kriya which calls for root lock during that time, I don't bother with the lower two locks (of rootlock) and I gently pull my navel in. Use your own judgement, if it doesn't feel appropriate, use more of a visualization than an actual contraction of the muscles. When we find ourselves limited in what we can do, in some way, we can visualize and simply have the intention to recieve the full benefit of the meditation or kriya, while doing our best within our capacities. I've been practicing sat kriya and sodarshan in a committed way and simply followed the above, during my flow, and didn't notice a "decline" in effectiveness due to it. I hope that helps your understanding? Good luck... Guest guest
Sat nam Jun..your welcome and continue to enjoy your practice.... as an aside...when it comes to spiritual names...if it is followed by Kaur it means a woman (princess)...if it is followed by Singh, it means a man (lion) ! I try to throw Kaur on to the end of my name when I think about it! Take care...all lIght, Sat Sangeet (Kaur) Ha ha! Jun <flowersrdancing wrote: Sat Nam Sat Sangeet, Haha!
