Guest guest
(From the KRI Training Manual...mostly) Pra-a-na, means "the first unit", first unit of energy. It is the first breath (Pran-Karma) or movement of the soul into the realm of mind and body. As teachers and practitioners of Kundalini Yoga, we have to grasp the fundamental concept of breath as prana. Ayama means "expansion". Pranayam is "the ability to expand the first unit, the seed of energy in you into the experience of life". One of the goals of a kundalini yogi as a pran yogi, as one who has mastered the science of yoga in relation to the breath, is to sense the motions of subtle energies within us and around us and have the capacity to create a moment of stillness, of shuniya. When we can create stillness, then we can sense what is happening and we create new patterns. The law of kriya is that once you initiate an action, it will fulfill itself because it is an honor to the soul. When you create stillness and you clearly initiate a new pattern, that is the way that prana can be used to express and to honor the soul. We create stillness. Healing potential comes through that doorway of stillness by blending the different motions, by mixing the pranas and the apana in equal measure. That stillness we create in the pranas is a doorway that opens to the expression of the kundalini energy and all the healing, awareness, and miracles that follow. satsangeetkaur wrote: >While I'm asking, might as well inquire about another word.
