Guest guest
sat nam! last night i was doing a meditation like sat kriya except for i held the breath in for as long as i could instead of navel-pumping (was suggested in "The Kundalini Yoga Experience") and after 2 minutes i was a little unnerved to realize that slowly my left arm became rather numb and really hot while the right arm remained stable. I stopped, because it was a little uncomfortable, and wondered what in #@$! was going on--is this some nerve thing, or maybe the left side was balancing itself, or a vein blockage???? I know this is a hard one, but has anyone experienced something like that while exercising before? -Lisa
Guest guest
Hello Lisa, I think i might have a clue of what must be going on. I practice Chi Gong as well as KY as i think that they compliment each other perfectly. Pains and numbness in one side and not the other of my Arms/Legs was happening when i first started the Ultimate Infinite stance in ChiGong which basically is just standing still like a tree in a specific pose. I don't know what the kundalini prospective at the matter is but the Chinese say that it is just the Chi or Prana trying to circulate in blocked parts of the body. my pains faded after the third week of practice which was expected but it would still be better if you get another opinion on that as well -Al sat nam! last night i was doing a meditation like sat kriya except for i held the breath in for as long as i could instead of navel-pumping (was suggested in "The Kundalini Yoga Experience") and after 2 minutes i was a little unnerved to realize that slowly my left arm became rather numb and really hot while the right arm remained stable. Guest guest
Sat nam Lisa, Sometimes you might have numbness when you lift your arms above the head if your pectorals are very tight, as the pec stretches it puts pressure on the main nerve running into the arm, neural compression causes numbness......it might also be an enlivening of a trigger point in one of your rotator cuff muscles which can also feel like numbness at times, which refer down the arm...or sometimes before the energy begins to open up in the nadis in the arms they get a really heavy almost numb feel to them (like Al mentioned)...so! could be a few things? If the numbness goes away after you stop the posture, then it's probably okay, but proceed with caution, if you feel as if you are causing yourself injury, back off alittle. Guest guest
This may also be because of left/right brain function. When right brain (where all the analytical, arthmatic and other worldly impulses created) is switched off due to our preoccupation in art, singing, meditation, dhyana yoga, etc., for long, thus activising the left part, then right side of our body gets cold. I can't validate my statement, but this is how I think. regards sukumar --- Al <alladinito wrote: > Hello Lisa, > > I think i might have a clue of what must be going > on. Guest guest
Your moon side may have been opening up. Do you have a Soul number of One, by any chance?? (www.3HO.org for free numerology reading). Guest guest
Sat Nam Dharam, My numerology reading indicates Gift of 11 -- "Your gift is to be able to express the energy of any of the ten spiritual bodies whenever you wish to do so." I haven't fuly understood this. Could you please explain what the "energy of the ten spiritual bodies" are. Theresa
