Guest guest
Give me a break. Fear and prejudice. You going to call me a racsist next. I've spent all my life studying spirituality and spiritual systems and I have some legitimate concerns about denial, denial, denial. I'm sorry I make you uncomfortable. So stop with the B.S. and I won't have anything more to say about Egyptian spirituality. I was criticising that man's academic assumptions, not his colour, race, national origin or anything. So quit already.>
Guest guest
Hey Dharam, Seva Simran and everyone ...Sat Nam! I find this discussion on roots of yoga fascinating...so what's the fighting for? To my ears Dharam and Seva Simran you both have a point... to be a yogi is to unite one's individual consciousness with the infinite consciousness of the universe..right? ..and in order to do that, the study of all the sacred ancient knowledge is very valuable. We are all striving to truly and deeply experience the oneness in a fast riding dual world...and as seekers of truth we all know, or at least claim so, that all great religions of this earth have said the Truth, with different words, at different times, for different people to hear and understand...and in the same way, all great ancient civilisations have grasped and experienced some part of the Truth and made something great of it...for us to study up to this day. The way I see and understand it, no one was perfect or else we wouldn't be where we are today, but that doesn't mean that we shouldn't value the information. People are people and the misuse of spiritual power has always been the case, probably because humanity has not reached the highest level of consciousness..yet...or because, even in the highest moments of human history the elevated beings were not enough to outnumber their opposing dark forces...but we are always striving, to evolve and move forward and upwards... and we do! And that's the only thing that matters. We are part of nature and this is a natural procedure. And all the great ancient civilisations have at least one valuable piece for us to put in the puzzle. It is the same with Muata Ashby's theory...it may not fit perfectly with my own cosmic theory, but it definitely has some aspects that give me a whole new perspective on my search..and that's very valuable to me...................wow that was long! love and light marily sat atma Sponsor "OUR DESTINY IS TO BE HAPPY" - Yogi Bhajan To UNSUBSCRIBE from this list, please send a blank email to Kundaliniyoga NO UNSUBSCRIBE REQUESTS TO THE LIST PLEASE!> WEB SITE: kundalini yoga KUNDALINI YOGA ON-LINE TRAINING. Guest guest
Sat Nam Seva Simran, Imagine I am driving along one of those mountain roads with a 2,000 foot drop off along the edge. If I spend enough of my time focused on guard rail (the Intrigue of the Negative Mind) and not on the road, I will eventually end up driving through the guard rail....it's a guarantee. It becomes a self fulfilling prophecy. "Tragedy of life is when subconscious releases garbage into the conscious mind." (http://www.sahej.com/Sodarshan.html) "Every Breath is the Kiss of God" and a new opportunity. SAT.........NAM (Breath Truth) It's that simple. It's that simple. It's that simple. and I hope you remind ME when I get OFF! SAT.........NAM (Breath Truth) It would be "nice" if some of us can be trusted to have an open discussion of the African roots of this Sacred Technology in a safe forum without our curiosity being squashed by some [unclear?] fear or prejudice. Nirbhao, Nirvair (Fearless and Revengeless) There are foreigners and people of color on this list. Please make some attempt to understand how others might feel. It's offensive to the rest of us for you to associate that whole other topic with this subject, regardless of your personal history. I trust you can appreciate that. Let's not blur these domains. If you want to talk about Black Magic and abuse of power, lets start a completely new Thread independant of Ancient Egyptian spirituality or African religion. You can call it "The Pitfalls of Spiritual Practice.....any Spiritual Practice." We certainly can have THAT discussion, and probably wouldn't hurt to do so. I myself have brought it up (check the archives). We've talked about Sex, Death and the Kundalini crisis. What's left? There is so much more to learn from the Ancients. I found of particular interest the reference that ancient peoples had a larger Thymus gland than present day peoples. The Thymus, in the ancient Greek writings, was said to be the seat of the Soul and has a direct baring on immune system function (sense of self). The Thymus, nowadays, is barely acknowledged in Western medicine. Could it be that the Ancients had a greater capacity for Soulfulness and Faith? That's the kind of discussion I'd like to have. The following is from Muata Ashby Greetings, Please visit our web site and click on the sections in the Sema University column on the first page. The site is quite extensive and will give you an idea of the teachings contained in the books and the future presentations and seminars. You and the Kundalini Group may be interested in a new presentations I will offer as part of a series on Arat Sekhem (The Serpent Power) that will commence at the 2003 Goddess Festival in December. Some of my students have expressed an interest in the Serpent Power path and this will be conducted if there is sufficient interest to add it to the program. This series will be based on our book The Serpent Power. Peace and Blessings Htp di si Neter iri Mettu wadj!
