Hello All,

I am faced with a new situation and am wondering if anyone out there

has had experience in this area - One of my new students has

recently been diagnosed with schizophrenia. She hears voices at the

back of her head that she feels expose her to another world - one

that she does not want to be in. She is aware of energy flowing

along her spine. She asked me if there is any connection between

spontaneous Kundalini rising and her illness. I am also wondering

if K yoga will help her or exaerbate her symptoms. Is there a set

and or meditation that maybe helpful to her?

My guess the Kritian Kriya would be of benefit as I really believe

that it is the 'chicken-noodle soup' of K meditations.

She said that she had a positive experience in class and I

encouraged her to practise grounding exercises and internally use

the mantra Sat Nam throughout the day.

I really do not have experience with this - any guidance? I'll also

check the archives. Thanks so much for your support with all of my

questions. It's great having other KY people 'out there'.

Sat Nam!

Yes i had the exact experience of schizophrenia when i had a spontanious kundalini awakening. I did not hear any voices but i had a sort of nodding in my head everery time i was communicating . For example for YES the nod was vertical and for NO the nod was horizontal. I was doing many bodily movements out of my control. I was behaving like a completely different person. I was shocked and immediately consulted a psychiatrist . I was under the hospital and taken care for 15 days. Luckily for me the symptoms slowly dwindled with time. The medication did a wonderful job. I was given zyprexa and it brought me under control. Now after 2 months after the whole experience i have recovered 80 % and normal but i do have some automatic body movements(kriyas ) in the evenings possibly due to my increased prana flow at that time.
