Alkalinity.....lemon water and teeth

Kind of funny you brought up lemon water and teeth, Gururattan, but I

had been wanting to follow up on some advice I gave about drinking hot

lemon water before going to sleep. This makes waking up a lot easier. It

cleans the liver gently and that, I believe, is part of it's alkaline

producing property. Why I wanted to follow up is that I had an

experiencing the last 6 weeks that dramatically reaffirmed, for me, the

need to use a straw to drink through and to brush your teeth immediately

after. Not five minutes later, I mean RIGHT AWAY! I had gotten a little

sloppy on this and after about two weeks I could perceive that the

enamel on my molars were not as hard when I brought my teeth together,

there wasn't the normal "crisp click". I don't know how else to describe

it. Additionally, I started having a pain on one tooth, not gum stuff,

but tooth surface/nerve pain. Initially, I didn't connect all of this to

the lemon water (I was in denial). I had stopped drinking the lemon

water, and after maybe three weeks, everything is back to normal. Crisp

clicking of teeth and that pain is gone. Whew! Thank Goodness!

Definitely use a straw, using your tongue to guide the liquid down

and brush right after.

The "Green" drinks work good for alkalizing. I know what you're using,

from your description, and I am using something roughly similar in the

same manner. I am also back to hot lemon water with honey at night.

Dear Dharam Singh,

Thanks for sharing that about the teeth and lemon water. In that case, we

really should avoid sippng lemon water during the day and just drink it a couple

times with a straw and then brush teeth afterwards. I was hoping to sip it as

it is easier for me to drink more water this way. But then I would rather

preserve my teeth.

I have actually heard that cold water with lemon in it is fine. It is

only hot lemon water that causes problems with teeth.
