Guest guest
Namo Namaste I am looking for a yoga set and meditation for the thyroid (I am hypothyroid.) I am doing the fish and occasional supported headstand. Does anyone have suggestions? I am also thinking about investing in the set of beginning KY videos. Is it advisable to get the whole set? Get the first few and then branch out to other specific videos? Get a review video and then branch out? I haven't taken KY lessons in a class for a long long time. Thanks In Wisconsin there is a class in Racine but only during my working hours. Is anyone practicing in the Milwaukee area? We could meet in the park and do BOF... Only right now it's raining so hard that I'm building an arc! Sat nam Lila
Guest guest
Sat Nam Lila, How long have you been aware of your Thyroid deficiency? What are you doing for it at this point? Any and every health issue is best approached from more than one direction. What do you know about the Throat Chakra? Basically, this chakra has to do with the seeking of "GOD", which, when last located, was within. In my mind, when we go looking elsewhere, that is when we have exhaustion and other issues. When Thyroid is balanced we have Knowledge, Wisdom, Power of Projection, Vach Siddhi. We seek Truth and engage only in Truthful speech. When it is not balanced we have are overly opinionated and our words have no power among other things. WHAT TO DO Challenge yourself to imagine, to remember, to decide, and to reason. Build a strong will by developing a purpose for everything that you do. Do the below for 40 days to break the cycle. YOGA FOR THYROID GLAND IMBALANCE Stand up, hands in Prayer mudra at the chest, elbows relaxed at the sides (a). Inhale deeply and extend the arms up and back to 60 degrees from the horizontal, dropping your head back (b). Exhale as you return to the original position Continue for 1 - 3 minutes. MEDITATION ON THE SOUND CURRENT ONG (suggested for Thyroid) Yogi Bhajan, 26 September 1974 Sit with a straight spine. Chant ONG 12 times per minute for 1-2 minutes. Inhale quickly between each call. Then chant rapidly at a rate of about ten repetitions every five seconds. Then chant powerfully for 1 minute. Relax and meditate within. COMMENTS: ONG is the sound of infinity as it is heard through the conch when we put in the breath of life. The sound of the conch is only an expanded ONG. When a disciplined yogi practices this at the center of the nose, his entire brain gets a very powerful vibration, then the nectar starts running. If you start coughing while practicing this, it is a signal that the thyroid gland is having trouble taking the pressure of the chant. The thyroid gland is responsible for keeping you young and beautiful. This sound gives a man three things: power, beauty, and youth. Through the time man started writing about it and reading about it, but he stopped practicing it, and the result was that he even forgot what the sound is. Then man became a shopper, going and begging from place to place, asking for peace. He forgot that what he was asking for was already within himself. Hope this helps, let me know how you do Sat Nam, Dharam Singh Lila wrote: > Namo Namaste > I am looking for a yoga set and meditation for the thyroid (I am > hypothyroid.) Guest guest
I never asked what have you done as far as nutrition? Did you have any bloodwork? Guest guest
Thyroid -- I never asked what have you done as far as nutrition? Did you have any bloodwork? Dharam Sat nam, Dharam, No bloodwork. I did go to a naturopath a couple years ago. I have nearly all the classical symptoms - dry brittle hair, a very low temperature, slow pulse and low blood pressure, thin eyebrows, I'm cold, sluggish, tired, low motivation, poor sleep, panic attacks, unusal weight gain, my teeth are demineralized... After stopping soy and microwaving the panic attacks and weight were not a problem. I was taking glandulars but I got busy at work and stopped. Then the weight came right back with the depression and panic. My teeth keep getting worse and my hair is continually breaking. Now I seem to be developing cataracs. I eat mostly fresh organic food except when I travel. I am almost completely vegetarian. I do Omega-3's and 6's. I'm back on a fairly intense vitamin regimen. (I'm trying to approximate Hulda Clark's process for tumor shrinkage.) I grew up in Los Alamos and I am suspicious of the radioactive bombardment I received until I was 18. I am an amature herbalist and I do teas. I do a quarterly cleanse including liver and kidney. I try to cook with seaweeds. I take bladderwrack tincture in tea several times a week. Up until about 10 years ago I was happy, healthy, high energy, very positive, very productive. The low thyroid and tumor became obvious simulatneously. I could be better at food and nutrition but I'm not bad. So I felt that I should buck up more on the spirit body connection, e.g. yoga and meditation. -- And, probably emotional work. I have a stressful job and a high maintenance gentleman-friend who lives 2000 miles away. I go to an energy-work Chiro. She's always telling me that my throat chakra needs clearing and balancing. It took a long time to realize that connection. Thus, the fish pose and now the ONG and backward arch. You're right. I'm opinionated and critical. I'm truthful but perhaps too blunt. I'm idealistic and tend to want to pick up the flag. But, sometimes I have no troops to follow. Thank you for your help and concern. I'm tired of my life "not working" and I'm willing to do whatever it takes to make it better. I even have a little family of Ganesha's on my alter to help me break through the barriers! Sat Nam Lila:I have no words of advice to give you . I do not know what would help. I read your message and was actually enjoying your style, till I got to the sentence above, which really struck a chord, and I really liked. Keep at it. Good Luck.L The New Search - Faster. Easier. Guest guest
Sat Nam Lila, A friend of mine is recovering from some pretty serious Hypo-thyroidism. She has been doing Kundalini, Tai Chi, Acupuncture and Chinese herbs but it seems that the nutritional aspect may have been the most important......though, you really can't separate one aspect from another. A little imbalance in our energy and meridians may not have produced a condition unless something else was adding to the stress. There are so many hormones in our blood, it's a miracle that we all hold together as well as we do. This friend is a nurse and knew to be persistent with regard to the western medical routes available to her.....she's seen plenty of folks getting blown off. It turned she had a number of things going on with regard to nutritional deficiency. In about a month, after correcting the situation, things have definitely turned a corner for her. She had had several of the your symptoms. I'd be glad to hook you two up. Keep on, keepin' on, Sat Nam, Dharam
anurg
Hi Lila I am 34 years old male from India. 2 Years back I was diagonosed with Thyroditis and later I became Hypothyroid. I am on on 32mcg of thyronorm. I had many symptoms or problems like: 1. Depression 2. Tiredness 3. Low hemoglobin 4.Panic attacks 5. Highly Stressed 6. Low Sugar 7. high level of Anxiety 7.1 Diffculty Sleeping, disturbed sleeping pattern --------------------- 8. Post Nasal Drip 9.Breathing Problems 10.Sinusitis All these symptoms appeared after I became hypothyroid.Life became hell. and I never thought I would be normal again. I was unable to even 10 min. exercise. Recovery Programme: 1. I started with Homeopathy for various symptoms like sleep, anxiety, low sugar, low vitality. Various medicines like Acid Phos-Q, Sezium jambolicum-Q, gelesemium-Q, Aconite-30, etc. long list. I think a homeopath will be able to help for specific symptoms. 2. I take homeopathic tonic Alfa-alfa daily before meals. It gave me strength. I still take it regulary. 3. I do exercise atleast 4-5 times in a week.sometimes all days. from 10 min to now 30-40 miniutes I am able to do. 4. I take B-complex capsule daily. Although would have liked Multi-vitamin with Zinc & calcium but so far things are ok. I will consider if I get my symptoms again. 5. Daily meditation.Atleast I try and it helps a LOOOOOT. I do buddhist style Mindfulness(Vipassana) meditation. It helped in controling panic attacks. Also I feel B-complex helps in that. 6. I try to sleep early and wake up early.Regular sleeping patterns. If I miss that I get back my sysmptoms. 7. I try to do daily Paranayama (Bhastrika, kapalbhati, anulom vilom, brahmri,Ujjayi) for 30-40 min. Really helped in Depression. My symtoms 8,9,10 have not been releieved even though I have tried homeopathy, ayurvedic medicine. But still have to keep trying. No other Options.:-)) You can write to me here for any other queries. regards Anurag
