Guest guest
Sat Nam All and a big thankyou for all the wonderful emails on the trataka meditation. One my first attempt, as I said earlier, I could not not blink for more than a few seconds, however, this morning, I was able to go almost 15 minutes. The key for me, I think was allowing the gaze to take in the whole picture, while still keeping the eyes focussed on only the centermost spot. I am not sure whether what I felt was a direct effect of the trataka mediation, since I have not tried it long enough (which I very much hope I will do). I felt very light, and actually quite excited to want to try more and more. So I took the suggestion of staring in the mirror at my own eyes, and could last some time too. It was better with the yantra though. Some of you wanted to know where I got the picture from: the site is www.sivasakti.com It is quite an awesome site with a lot of information. When I gazed at the yantra, after a while, gazing was not strenuous, and I felt like the picture was becoming three-dimensional and floating (this was before there was water in my eyes - so it was not a result of looking through the water). RaMa Kaur, when you say you loose your body, I still have not experienced what you describe, but I read on the site that you should indeed become one with the picture, so I think you are achieving exactly what you should. Why is it scary, is it like a sense of imbalance, like you feel you are losing your footing? Jiwan Kaur, you give a beautiful description of how to gaze on the rose, and I was entranced reading your message. I will try it for sure. Seva Simran: If instead of using the picture of Yogi Bhajan, when I use the yantra (which as Ranjit Kaur has pointed out is slightly different from the trataka meditation), can one try to induce similar experiences of eliminating any conflicts that might exist within the consciousness, or should one resort to the picture? Thank you all. Sat NamL The New Search - Faster. Easier. Bingo.
