Guest guest
Sat Nam Lila, At last years gathering for White Tantric they announced it was the biggest one ever and the number was something like 800-900 people, that was just for the Tantric....Peace Prayer day I think had around 1200 attend.....but the rest of the 9 days in total spent there, wasn't as fully attended...so it's not so totally overwhelming as it might seem. Remember when you are out doors 800 people really spread out....with that said...you kinda start to see the same people around after while. As far as the daily workshops go, there were three tents that probably held about 40 max per class (not daunting at all?) and there is one large structure, which is basically a slab of cement, a roof and a stage at one end, this is where 1000 people can fit at once, it's very open and spacy having no walls, except behind the stage. Personally how do that many people interact? Well...my experience was that during sadhana or workshops or Tantric there was a connection, just as we would feel normally practicing with a group of people in our everday classes.....after these events people would pretty much break off and do there own thing.... I think your experience of it would be a reflection of what is occurring for you on the inside....I was at the time struggling with the crowds and what appeared to be "clickyness" occurring as soon as the group events were over? But I was in "the deep" of healing feelings of unworthiness/heart issues while I was there, so my perspectice and experience would have been reflecting my inner experience or landscape to great extent? And you bring your own tent to sleep in...so unless you attend with someone...you'd have your own tent for privacy if you needed it...or you could go for a walk etc. And if it's just the actual Tantric itself that you are worried about, there's no sense worrying about it, as Liszette said, you just go and do it, and however it turns out is how it turns out....there's nothing about it you can control, other than just being present to the best of your ability? We can talk about how to qualm fear til the cows come home, but in the end, I believe to transcend it, we have to acknowledge the emotion, fear, as being present and then proceed inspite of it, the act of courage. And I think what you will begin to notice if you can remain present in that experience (ie not running blindly into a fearful situation with your eyes closed, but rather using your sensory awareness to guide you through it, intuitively) is that you will notice a sense of connection in that experience, with the Source. There's a line in Japji that translates...basically God is in our pleasure AND our pain....in the middle of every storm if we have the courage to open our eyes and be aware...what we will find is the touch of God's hand in every moment. There is a gift in every peice of garbage, through working with your awareness, this phenomenom begins to make itself known in your life. So long story short....Ya! Go for it Lila!!! ha ha! Blessings to you, Sat Sangeet
