Guest guest
I practice Bikram yoga as well as Kindalini yoga. For me Kundalini yoga serves my spiritual side and Bikram challenges my physical being (not that Kindalini yoga doesn't do that also) I have always been very flexible (a yogi in a previous life perhaps) and Bikram yoga pushes the edge of my flexibility and encourages me to stretch more. It is said to open and stretch all 26 joints and also to put pressure on all organs and glands increasing vital hormonal secretions. I have been practicing it for about a year and have seen a loosening up of some of my tighter spots on my body in particular my shoulders (the area where one carries fear and tension) I do believe that it further my practice of Kundalini yoga also. In my area Kundalini yoga classes cost more than Bikram classes. Many Bikram studios also have a new student policy where when you pay for your first class they let you attend for up to 10 days aditional without any more money. While Bikram is not per say a spiritual yoga it is a back door approach. For when you open up your body energy flows more readily through it. One more thing - in Bikrams book there are picture of 2 different women with pictures of each taken twenty years apart doing postures. The women look like they have not aged a day in the 20 years between the pictures. Cheryl
