Guest guest
Sat Nam Sudeep, The "awakening" of the Kundalini is a process and sometimes a very gradual one. I started practicing Kundalini Yoga 26 years ago. Kundalini Shakti is still moving within me. The point is I wouldn't have wanted to renounce sex until my Kundalini had arisen. Don't see the awakening of the Kundalini as a single dramatic event, although that does happen occasionally. One would want to refrain from having sex if they are not effectively transforming their sexual juices and fire into Ojas. Ojas is the subtle but real substance that binds body, mind and spirit together. Any person who is need of "rejuvenation" is needing to preserve whatever Ojas they have since sex would deplete these stores. Rejuvenation is necessary for those with dis-ease. Dis-ease is lack of ease and "Virility" is the goal. I will quote from p.165 of "Prakruti", by Robert Svoboda. I think it says a lot. "The first step in any virilization program must be absolute sexual chastity for a month or more. It takes at least a month for the body to rebuild its Ojas stores so that Ahamkara (http://www.sahej.com/Ahamkara.html) can feel sufficiently secure within herself to permit another being to come into intimate contact with her. Selective chastity, the practice of observing physical continence while actively fantasizing about sex, is useless. Sex is all in the brain anyway; no excitement occurs unless the mind wills it to occur. The con-tinuous pressure of unresolved sexual thoughts is more detrimental to Ojas than is the physical loss of Ojas during the sex act. Moreover, the mental duplicity and deception involved leads to deviousness, which promotes willfulness and encourages other diseases to develop." I remember Yogiji saying that if you are not able to transform your sexual energy than one should not have sex more than once a month. So maybe go play Cricket or something ) There is a ton of info on this subject as it is an humongus aspect of everything. Sat Nam, Dharam P.S. Guest guest
Sat Naam, A friend of mine is considering getting a vasectomy and would like to know how his various energy channels/flow/chakras will be affected -- from the yogic perspective. Anyone? Thanks! Ranjit _______________ Tired of spam?
