Guest guest
Sat nam Sean....I think what you are describing is a tension in the nervous system (optic nerve etc)...when you focus at the 3rd eye and you experience REM that is this nervousness working itself out...so you just allow it like any other sensation....if it is too intense for you bring your focus to the 3rd eye point more mentally, until some tension subsides? I think I may have answered my own question this morning as I was meditating about the whole inner flame landscape thing. I decided to try to change my focus or attention slightly during my wahe guru med.....instead of allowing my gaze to expand out, at the 3rd eye point, into the "landscape of light" as it were...I receded it slightly and held it about an inch behind the forehead....in time I began to notice the pineal gland begin to radiate and it was as if I was one of those...I don't know what you call them....you know where they study stars....it's a building where the top opens up and some sateliite rasies up on a platform and begins recieving a message from "out there" !! Ha ha ha! Anyways... this is a different experience for me then expanding "out" and merging with the light that appears to be outside of me, in the landscape...that I then can become united with. This experience was of the light "beginning" inside of me at the pineal gland and the raditaing out to encompass all.....so I guess it's is just a change in perspective/focus needed? Where I would fit the "flame" into all of this...??? I still don't really know...but something tells me the flame is just symbolic of the light that you are trying to experience....so I can probably just stick with the light...and if it comes up that I need to really figure out this flame thing..it'll make itself known to me! ha ha! Guest guest
Sat nam Sat Sangeet, That sounds like a good answer to me, it does seem to> do it more when i'm focusing at the 3rd eye, or the spot between my eyes.... does this sort of thing usually stop after some time? I think you have answered your own question... what do you mean by holding your gaze about an inch behind your forehead? you mean like above? im confused thanks for the answer sean The New Search - Faster. Guest guest
Yes...Sean, at different times I'll have stress released at the 3rd eye point...and I might go some time without having that experience...and then it begins again....just a process...everyday is different....but definetly some of the tension will release with relaxing the focus a bit, making it more of a mental concentration at the area of the 3rd eye point and practicing allowing and being aware of all sensations in the body at one time. (Are you doing some yoga prior to meditation...to work out a bit of the nervous tension...that will definetly help as well if you aren't already) With the focus...I was paying attention about an inch deep into my forehead inline with the 3rd eye point. So Imagine drilling into your forehead straight through the 3rd eye point....letting the drill sink in an inch or so....that's where I was holding my focus (alittle less of a physical focus and a little more of a mental focus). Guest guest
Ok, i see what you mean. I think that would be alittle less phsyical concentration and more mental.... that might solve my problem.... i haven't been doing any yoga before, but mainly because i do not know any yoga stretches, i don't have many books that show you... i've looked on internet, but i figure i'll just buy a book sometime..transtitions maybe? anyways, thanks for clearing it up for me... take care, sean The New Search - Faster.
