Guest guest
Sat Nam All, I will be driving from Indiana. I heard the distance between the two locations (Japji and Summer Solstice) is about half an hour. I also gathered that if I will drive my small motor home I will be able to park close to the Japji course location for the first 3,5 days and live in it. If I drive my small car, I would be able to set my tent already in Summer Solstice camp and there will be rides(?) to Japji course. I would appreciate all the insight from you about what would be the best practical way (what to chose to drive). I am curious, because the place is big, how far away (A walking distance?) my car will be parked from my tent, in case if I will have to drive to Japji course myself living in SS camp? My hair is comparatively long and I am dreading washing it in a cold water. (So, motor home would be handy?) You can tell this is my first time. I am finishing up reading The Master Teacher course book, and started following Yogiji's advice to fast on full moon and new moon. Today is accidentally a second day of fast ( I did not really plan it, just happened), and suddenly I am finding myself writing on the list/chat Jiwan Kaur
Guest guest
Jiwan, You will not want to drive a small motor home up and down the mountain more than absolutely necessary. I repeat....You will not want to drive a small motor home up and down the mountain more than absolutely necessary. Maybe you can drive it up and drive to and from the course with someone else. There will be many other folks. Secondly, when I'm in a pinch for some warm water to wash my hair (maybe 2x a week), there is a warm water hose on the back side of the kitchen. I do it at night but not necessarily to be discreet, but because by that time of the day, the air is getting cool again and to deal with that AND cooler water may not be conducive to a sleep state. Afternoon water is fairly warm thanks to the sun. It may feel colder, thought, because the air is hot. The tricks our senses play on us. Sat Nam, Dharam Singh P.S. Did you say you are reading the Master's Touch Training Manual? Which version > > Jiwan Kaur
Guest guest
Sat Nam Jiwan, I don't think you would be able to set up your tent at the solstice site until the 20th anyways? Unless you made some special arrangements. There is a camp ground in Espanola you could stay in with your motor home. At solstice your car is parked about 1-2 blocks away from the camp depending on what part you set up camp in. There are two upper camps close to the amenities and events...but really windy at times and one lower which is closer to the showers...alittle less windy. If your tent has any sort of loose flaps that can't be fastened down...you will regret it, as they will make alot of noise, all night long with the wind. The days leading up to the tantric the weather builds and gets quite tumultous...last year it was windy dust stormy on and off....but very hot and sunny! Then it all subsides in the early evening for a while and after the Tantric it was very Calm (mind you... that is after the biggest rain/lightening storm I have ever witnessed! ha ha!) But like Dharam said...it's a bumpy ride down that mountain! If you have more questions feel free to contact me off line as well.
