Guest guest
Namaste, I 've been reading your posts about cold showers with interest, however I find it xtremly hard to take them...could u give me some tips as how to get my body and mind used to the cold concept? I am also naturally very cold sensitive, hence the fear of cold showers...any suggestions? Thanks in advance, Wahe Guru Ji Ka Khalsa, Wahe Guru Ji Ki Fateh Phildas Surakshadevi Bhakta
Guest guest
Hi Phildas, you can't get used to the cold water? The secret: Start slowly. Start with some luke warm water and get gradually colder. Now late spring and beginning of summer is a perfect time to start. Even the 'cold' water is not really cold. In late autumn or winter it is becoming more challenging. Another tip: do not shower too long time. It should be refreshing, not breathtaking or chilling. You don't want to freeze yourself, you just want to become fully awake and alert. To convince the mind (or the little guy sitting on your left shoulder, telling you, that this is all too hard) - call him a 'whimp' and step into the shower ;-) And make yourself aware of the benefits of Ishnaan: stronger immune system, easier meditation, more self confidence (cause YOU are not a whimp). Try to like, even love, difficult or challenging things like the cold shower. A positive mind helps you turning the tap - and see, one day the little guy on your shoulder shouts 'hurray - its shower time'. Once you are used to it, you do not want to miss it. Same is true with Sadhana..... SAT NAM from Shanghai, Adarsh S.
Guest guest
>you can't get used to the cold water? He is fully right. I started with coldshowers 6 months ago.. it is just wonderfull...I feel much better... never got a cold.. refreshing, good for your musscles, for your mind, you feel rejuvenating (I am 57) if you do it in the morning you come out to work very alert and happy and if you do it in the evenings after the strong rubbing with the towel you are fully relax to felt asleep.. try it and then let us know.. I am sure you will get use to it if you start slowly and starting from 1-2 minutes after some 2 weeks you can do it a little longer...you will be dreaming about shower time! sat nam Luis ----------------- ¡La primera peña de Primitiva con garantía de premio! http://loterias.ozu.es/ ----------------- Correo enviado desde http://www.ozu.es
