Guest guest
Sat Nam Again! I was having a rather difficult night, yesterday evening....feeling rather alien in my surroundings...wondering where in the "world" outside of my head, it is that, I fit in? Easily falling into a perception of separation....and kept having the thought...see God in all or not at all....but really struggling through my lens of, "I'm separate from all of this or that etc". This morning I began to meditate on this distance I was feeling. I just finished triangle pose and had sat back on my heels to relax a moment, when I heard the words...."In God, I find... my every moment". All of a sudden I thought."Humph!"....NOW THAT"S A DIFFERENT PERSPECTIVE, then what I had been having! I had been "trying" to find God in the enviroment, last night, which is the equivalent of finding God in the moment...but the switch with this new thought, was to find the moment in God....meaning Dwell in God (all the time) and then ALL moments are of God. If you dwell in God in every moment, there is no other place, your moments, could be found. It reframes all experience of "good and bad" with the perspective that this "too"...is God. See God in all or not at all. As Guru Nanak says in Japji..."God is found in our pleasure and our pain"....it is our relationship to our experiences that creates the suffering...not the experiences themselves. As we break our attachments to certain emotions, thoughts, ways of thinking and percieving reality and open to a larger view of all events and happenings...we begin to see the network of God in every moment....it's the lifeline of creation. It's what really sustains us...the God force. Long story short...after I made this adjustment in my thinking...meaning I remembered, the goal in all my endeavors, is to experience unity, rather than foster separatist thinking...I experienced the alteration in my enviroment as well...I had experiences of connection today. I guess this experience is an example of the process I was describing the other day of becoming aware of a behavior or way of thinking that is unpromoting, then taking it to meditation and recieving an understanding, that shows me a new way to be or think and then I experience the transcendence when I experience the alteration in my external enviroment as well.
