Guest guest
Hi Everyone! I am a newbie to KY just starting a couple of weeks ago, Nirvair Singh's DVD's, and have been having trouble with sore legs. They are ok after the session, tired of course, but then after sitting at work for a few hours they get sore. The first time i was able to go for about a week and they got sore. I had to stop and rest for a few days. The second time i went for about 4 days and had to stop . Can anyone give me some advice? Thanks, Mick The New Search - Faster. Easier. Bingo. http://search. Guest guest
Sat Naam, Can you determine which exercise/s are making your legs sore? I know that Frogs really work the inner thighs for me. Also anything with dynamic forward bends really hits my hammies! I would suggest just bringing your practice down a notch or two -- you can reduce the times of the exercises and then work your way up as you strengthen. Take it easy with those exercises which are causing you pain later! Learning how to work at your own level through developing awareness of your own body, being sensitive to your personal needs & limitations each time that you practice is a big part of the process of Yoga. Long slow stretching before & after your Kundalini set will help you prevent soreness, plus drink LOTS of water. Also you may want to try some new sets! Wahe Guru! Guest guest
Thanks Ranjit. I will tone it down. I also notice that i am sitting in my chair in a sitting up position rather than before where i used to "lie down" on the chair. I think this may be contributing. I am going to try and get a different chair. The exercises i don't know the names. You stick one leg out in front. The other foot to your inner thigh and then stretch to try and catch the ankle. I can just about reach the knee. I'm not very flexable. Especially at the hips and ankles. Hence i thought yoga sounds good thing to try and i love it from the first time i tried. The spiritual side also. I will also increase my water intake. Thanks again, Sat Naam Mick --- ~ ranjit kaur ~ <ranjitk wrote: > Sat Naam, > > Can you determine which exercise/s are making your > legs sore? Guest guest
Sat Nam! I don't know the name of that exercise either Sounds like the pose which in Sanskrit/Hatha is a variation of Janu Sirshasana. I think in Kundalini it is considered one of the Life Nerve stretches... anyone? That is a good stretch for your hips, low back, and hammies. Basically the entire path of the Life Nerve, aka Sciatic Nerve. Keep up the good work!
