Guest guest
Gayathri: What are good exercises to control hunger? I refer to craving rather than hunger - the desire for food when there is no hunger? Dearest Gayathri, in one of Gururattans books you will find a set, and you can use the Mantra Sa Re Ga Ma Pa Da Ni Sa Ta Na Ma Ra Ma Da Sa Sa Say So Hung. Guest guest
Sitali breath : Inhale through curled tongue. Exhale through nose. At least 26 times before you eat or whenever you are feeling unnecessarily hungry. > > >What are good exercises to control hunger? > _______________ Tired of spam? Guest guest
Thanks Gayathri, Ranjit and Sonja for your messages. Gayathri, you are right, it is fear that causes those sensations, and most often that fear is not recognised as such, but the desire for food is the only sensation felt. Yes, but sometimes even when the awareness is there, the fear propels the eating, almost commands it. I suppose the reflection on the source has to start instantly. Thank you very much, for your diagnosis and advice. Gayathri Narayanan <gaia3_71_03 wrote: Free online calendar with sync to Outlook. Guest guest
> Gayathri, you are right, it is fear that causes > those sensations, and most often that fear is not While the causes of fear can be many, the physical manifestation of fear is ALWAYS the same. You tend to hold your breath, leading to insufficient oxygen intake. Immediately, the central nervous system (brain-spinal cord) is impaired ( as a result you are not able to think clearly), and subsequently the peripheral nervous system (spinal cord-organs) is also impaired, as it does not receive the proper nervous signals from the brain. This is what happens when someone sees a snake and gets shocked, and later tells others "I was stunned, I could not move my legs or arms, I did not know what to do, I was frozen". The only difference between many of us and guys like Steve Irwin on TV's animal planet is Steve starts to breathe well (actually, more) when he comes across crocodiles and snakes. So, the way to deal with fear, thankfully, is quite simple. Start breathing deeply, slowly, fully in a smooth rhythm (or the Sitali breath, which Ranjit suggested) when you are struck with fear. This will restore the oxygen supply, and the brain-body coordination gets much better. Now that you are aware of fear sensations, next time watch what happens to your breathing rhythm. Try a few long deep breaths, and feel what happens. > Thank you very much, for your diagnosis and advice. You are welcome. Gai Calendar - Free online calendar with sync to Outlook. http://calendar.
