Guest guest
Sat Nam Sija! It seems there are many of us here that can sympathize with your desire to practice and the struggles with fitting that in to your busy day. My experience with my daughters(when they were very young) and my niece and nephews at present is there are creative ways to accomplish practice in the presence of children. I have never stumbled across a child that doesn't resonate with song, chanting, and dance. Ecstatic dance is also a real draw for little ones. Put on some great kirtan and dance! Although because of their ages they may not sit still for seated meditation, a meditative walk can be powerful. My girls and I called it doing "our explores", looking at nature, walking through nature in a meditative state of mind can be very calming and help you reconnect to the calmness and stillness inside. My sister with three very young children stops in the middle of chaos sometimes and instead of yelling belts out a very powerful OM, everyone stops in their tracks and begins chanting. The first time I witnessed it, it was incredible! At the time her children were 3, 4, and 7. Children are so open to the vibrations of mantra and my experience has been as long as they are getting "mommy attention" they are interested in whatever the pursuit. The best of luck and remember one day you will have all the time in the world to sit in silent meditation and practice kriya, treasure these very precious moments with your babies! They are the very best!! Blessings, Rebecca
