Guest guest
Dear Kathy, All I can say is that you should find a Kundalini Yoga teacher in your area and take up a regular practice. Gradually, the body will fill with radiance, and all these systems we talk about will begin to open themselves. In reality, everything is automatic, happens by itself without the notion of a doer. the surface mind attached to a limited conglomeration of images and impressions, presents the surface mind - the individual unit of consciousness - with pictures based on these impressions. As the body becomes more and more radiant, through the practice of applied awareness in the various postures, movements combined with breathing, and the specific effect of mantra on the radiant body, the subconscious, which is the storehouse of these images and impressions begins to dissolve in the prevailing radiance, like our attachment to images in a movie screen wanes, as the light in the projector is turned up, fading the screen to white. Suddenly, there is an impact of the "I"-consciousness with the unconscious. This unconscious is the undifferentiated seamless appearance of the universe within the Infinite Being. At first an Intelligent force is felt in the mind - permeating the body inside and outside - that abides as the seer and does not allow images (or impressions or notions or conceptualizations, even the ideas of time, space being and non-being) to appear in the mind, then you realize/recollect your Self to be pervasive consciousness, beyond silence, within which the universe appears. The idea of subject and object becomes entirely meaningless, as these are simply impressions related to the appearance of the universe on the surface, but now you see with the eye of the Self, wherein reflected consciousness of the mind has no more use. The experience is ineffable, etheric, spacelike "with no exertion of the mind's power" of attention. For a Buddhist description of this, link to http://www.kundalini-matashakti.com/worddocuments/Sravana/Zen1.rtf In Kundalini yoga, as taught by Yogi Bhajan, this practice and experience is called the One Star Spirituality. I can send you more information explaining the yoga and it's practice. Then, when you begin the practice, you will understand that the whole process is very straight forward, systematic. This surface consciousness is like a morning mist. With the practice of Kundalini Yoga, the sun in the heart rapidly burns off the mist and what's left outshines everything. Hopefully this group would help me unwind some confusion about what I have been experiencing. I've been having "releases" involuntary expansion/contraction in my solar plexus - especially when I am processing or finished processing some deep emotional "stuff". A psychic told me they are kriyas. Are they? Another one told me it was blockage of energy flow. A qigong practitioner told me to push the energy to earth in the horse stance (a basic martial arts stance). Here in this forum it seems that the goal is to have the energy seek itself upwards. Anyway, lately I have had an awareness that my heart chakra was a little shut down. I feel like it's just going through some renovation and closed for reconstruction. But I have also been reading a book on Soul Love by Sanaya Roman that seeks to "Lift solar plexus energy into your heart center to be transformed into love." I've been working on that. Pieter especially struck a chord when you talked of Buddhism and martial arts with regards to solar plexus energy. I was raised in the Jodo Shinshu sect in California (a "whitewashed" version of Buddhism - my mother could have doubled as "church lady" on SNL). My deceased grandmother who I am sure are one of my ancestral guides was a strict Zen Buddhist and practiced shiatsu. I studied Kenpo Karate and Tai Chi before I landed in yoga. I am really drawn to Tibetan Buddhism. Anyway - whatever you call what I am experiencing - I feel very lethargic right before these episodes. After the releases I am a little quiet, but I get right up and feel a lot more energy than before. So it can't be all that bad. I experienced them half an hour ago. I guess the goal is to have energy flow more regulated and constant rather than up and down? Your thoughts? Kathy

Guest guest
Sat Nam from Indianapolis! Today is Summer Solstice, when the sun is at its peak in the sky at a 90 degree angle. I wish everyone a wonderful Summer Solstice -- those who are in New Mexico, such as my teacher Mahan Kalpa Singh, and those who are at home. I am new to the list and would like to say how much I enjoy reading the postings from everyone. In two hours I will be teaching Surya Kriya, from the Sadhana book and Subagh Kriya at Eagle Creek Park! Sada Sat Kaur had suggested these kriyas as a way to celebrate. I'm on my way to pick up a dozen white roses to pass out to my class when we have tea and cookies. I would love to hear how others are celebrating Summer Solstice! Love and light, Sat Bachan Kaur ===== SBC DSL - Now only $29.95 per month! http://sbc.
