Guest guest
Sat Nam....can anyone advise me? At Solstice when they tell you to make sure you wash your dishes and soak them in the bleach solution, otherwise you might get sick....what "kind" of sickness is it that you might get? I had a few times where the washing stations had closed down by the time I ate so I just rinsed my dishes and since coming home, I am starting to feel quite sick. I don't know whether this is just a Tantric "Hangover" or whether it's something I need to seek out more counsel on. I went to see my Dr. of yesterday and she concluded that my stomach and intestines are highly inflamed (my stomach is bloated out and I can barely touch it for hours after eating). She also suspected that I was having a parasite problem and wondered if the food I had been eating while away, had been "clean". I assume it was...but then later remembered the dishwashing thing. She gave me a herb for the gastric inflamation....but I am wondering, if I have parasites, don't I have to be doing something about that? I was in a lot of pain when I saw her and wasn't thinking about these questions at the time. When in pain...I tend to over react....but I was just looking for some reassurance that there wasn't a course of action I should be taking, other than eating an extremely cooked and predigested diet and taking the herb for inflamation. I know this isn't KY related other than it began at Solstice and I half suspect it might be a physical thing from the Tantric practice...so if anyone has any advice....please contact me "off list" with it. May we all be blessed with "non-inflamed" digestive tracts! Ha Ha! Sat Sangeet
Guest guest
Sat Sangeet I believe the Chlorox regime started after one Solstice a few years ago, when someone with hepatitis infected a whole bunch of people. It was designed to disinfect your dishes after they had been put through the communal dish washing system. Rinsing your own dishes under running water in one of the sinks would not give rise to any risk of infection. We always rinsed ours after disinfection, to remove the smell and taste of the bleach. The water all comes from the underground well, and is perfectly safe to drink. All food is prepared in the kitchen in accordance with strict rules of hygiene. If you have any form of parasitic infection, then it is doubtful if you caught it at Summer Solstice. Where did you eat when you left the camp? Last year I had a mild case of food poisoning which I traced back to some junk food I bought in Phoenix airport between flights. Sat Nam! Guest guest
Thanks Gordon....this reassures me that it probably isn't a parasite problem then, because the symptoms began mildly the second last day of Solstice. This is probably a case of "wacky" physical stuff due to the clearing we did during the Tantric. Actually, upon closer observation today, I am noticing there is a strong emotional component involved in the pain...so I will just continue to ride the wave!
