Guest guest
Sat Nam ya'll, Okay, another day without dialysis, for which I'm truly thankful, but my labs are still kind of screwy, particularly my blood urea nitrogen (BUN). This is normally associated with the eating of animal proteins. I responded to this by cutting out all that stuff and getting my proteins in stuff like hummus and pasta, and not alot of that. Yet those numbers keep on a-climbin'. Now I'm pretty much down to not eating anything that casts a shadow. Probably a good move for some reasons but this really does not promote health in people with HIV. I know the Yogi Bhajan has had some kidney problems of his own in recent years and I was wondering if the KY community had come up with any dietary info on this problem. OR anything for that matter, which will help me take more effective steps in this situation. It's REALLY hard to find info on the web because, frankly, I don't think people with AIDS have lived long enough to face this kind of thing before. But surely I'm not the first. I believe the answer I need is out there somewhere. Some set of clues that my doctors and I haven't put together yet. If anyone has any info or experience that would help I be most appreciative. Feel free to write me off list. Sat Nam, Leo
