When we are having seventh chakra experiences we are generally lifting the veil of illusion and the old is being destroyed. Keep a humble attitude (one close to your heart and your truth) as being at this level of energy can be like a sword. It can destroy more than might be wise to destroy. There is a time and purpose for everything. During meditation would seem to me to be as appropriate a time as any to see this color. When we start seeing while just walking around, it might be a good time to have a long talk with one's self so as to integrate and keep things in proportion. As Don Juan (from Carlos Castaneda's books) said, and I paraphrase, "it's easy to take apart the world, it's putting it back together again that is difficult". I do remember, years ago, seeing purple quite a bit. It lasted for several years. In terms of attitude, purple is also associated with "nobility in purpose", giving of yourself and "maintaining" regardless of circumstance and who you can or can't get to go along with you.
