Guest guest Posted August 1, 2003 Report Share Posted August 1, 2003 I have found that when my bowels aren't moving, if I relax and push on my back just above the kidneys in between the spine and the ribs with my thumbs while I'm trying to eliminate, things start moving quite well. Sometimes some massaging of the area is required but usually it comes right out and then tapers off requiring some massaging. Also pushing with one or two fingers just below the diaphram on the exhale of a deep breath is helpful. If severely backed up I find it helps to push a little above the areas mentioned.
