Guest guest
Thinking about Dharam's thoughts on being in the moment and in the body, I remembered something from one of my favorite books- Embrace Tiger, Return to Mountain by Al Chung-liang Huang. "When any outside energy comes to you, when the force literally pushes towards you and against you, instead of rejecting and resisting, receive it and bring it back down into your center. Then, if it becomes unbearable all you have to do is pivot your body and spin out of it. You become like a boucing ball on top of water-when it is pushed, it bounces out, the circle rounds it off. There's no need to worry about being pushed under, pushed aside, or not being able to receive the shock. Shock is a result of your own resistance to an external force. When you allow this force to come to you and spin around with you, you can have fun with it. This is an example of the value of being vulnerable, of not being afraid to be flexible, and open to receive." Sat Nam Karen _______________ Add photos to your e-mail with MSN 8. Guest guest
That's very rich and organic, Karen. Al Chung-liang Huang has a grip. I can't add much to that except to say it is tangible and works and is not something that only people in the East can do. Here in the West "Philosophy" is often thought of as being something that has validity only around a coffee table and in institutions of higher education. You never expect to major in Philosophy and then get paid lots of money when you graduate. Sat Nam, Dharam P.S.
