Sat Nam Good Morning,

Out of curiousity, my yoga class and I tested our alkalinty with pH paper

before and after class on two separate Wednesdays. Both before and after, the

alkalinity was extremely high. I've tested groups at my downline meetings (non

yogi's) in the past and have always had many who tested acid. Any thoughts on

this???

Thank you. Guru Prem Kaur

First, it is best to test ph first thing in the morning and also to test

urine and not saliva.

Second, you should be able to read the pH paper within 20 seconds.

Third, the difficulty in reading the paper is that the reading is an

acid reading. If your urine is highly acidic it will not change the

color of the pH paper much, if at all. Also, if a person is in the

middle of a cleanse of some sort, these readings will have very little

meaning.

That said, I can't speak to an extremely high reading but Yogi's and

vegetarians, in a very general sense, would be less acid/more alkaline.

Sat Nam,

Dharam
