Excesive Sleep

Sat Nam

Any suggestions for excesive sleep. I am tiered after 9-10 hours.

I struggle to stay awake after 9pm.

This makes getting everything I need to get done, done.

I eat right and exercise every day.

But wake up tiered, ready for a nap.

I even fell asleep sitting up waiting for a Doctors appointment.

Maybe you should see a Naturopath, or it could very well be depression. I sleep

very little, but when I do get tired, I get sooooooo tired. Are you exhausted

or just plain sleepy? There are a lot of things out there to help you gain

energy, but very little that helps you sleep. If you can do both, it would be

great.

I suggest that you get blood work to rule out any imbalances. I have serious

problems with my digestion, and I can become malnourished and extremely tired

if I don't keep these disorders in check. If you are a strict vegetarian,

check for pernicious anemia, which a lack of vitamin B 12. Also, have your

thyroid and adrenals checked.

You need to eliminate all the possibilities, Sherlock Holmes style.

Anemia, low thyroid, chronic fatigue syndrome, a virus, all that

kind of stuff. Also the legitimate need to rest because your nervous

system is burned out. Once these things are addressed you should

probably then look at the cause of narcolepsy, which is extreme fear

and a feeling of being abandoned by God resulting in a withdrawl

into unconsciousness as a way to cope.
