Guest guest
Hey all;-) My name is Hope and I am looking forward to talking with you guys. I am very very stiff all over and I am going through the course work from KYyoga website and I see that there are no Asanas ( I believe they are postures ). I do see something called sets however. Anyway my question is: 1. what should be the progression of Kundalini session . . . should I meditate first, then chant, and do the sets, and then the Asanas 2. My second question is, where do I find the asanas, is there a website I can go to? I am a novice who is looking forward to recieving information from those of you who've been doing with a while. Guest guest
Hey Hope, nice that you found the group. Heartily welcome over here. Just a short reply for your questions: A 'normal' Kundalini Yoga-Session or class is outlined as follows: Tune in with 'Ong Namo Guru Dev Namo' and the protection mantra 'Aad Gureh Nameh,....' Do some warm-up exercises (actually the exercises are Asanas) Do a set or kriya (a sequence of asanas with a purpose or specific intention, eg. for a stronger back, etc.) Relaxation (normally in corpse pose) Meditation Chanting of a mantra Tune out (May the longtime sun....) and 3 long Saaaaaat Nam Time is something in between 1,5 to 2,5 hours. For practising at home - start with much less - e.g. 30 mins. But try to do it daily. The best is to find a class or teacher. Or take the DVD's from Nirvair Singh. Also the web is a great resource. Sat Nam (our typical greeting ;-) from Shanghai, Adarsh Singh (my spiritual name)
