Guest guest
Saruj Kaur, The suspension of breath during yoga is intentional and has the purpose of healing and of cultivating the stillpoint or Shuniya. There is no danger in this and may actually save your life. This is very different from the unhealthy, constricted breath borne of anxiety and grief. In yoga we expand our inhales and complete our exhales, coming as close to emptying our lungs as possible, fully letting go, before inhaling again. Breath is the first meditation, without which there would be no other meditation.
