Guest guest
Hi rookielynn, and Welcome to the list, Thank you for your "long winded" intro. It's real helpful when folks can show they have a grasp of what they have "on board". Kundalini is the energy of Spirit. Kundalini has also been described as the "pressure of the Soul". Kundalini/consciousness is not something we Do, it is something we Are. The actions of Meditation and Yoga are Practice for LIFE. Yoga is what you can Do to prepare your self. Strengthen and balance your navel center. Strengthen your nervous system and balance your glands. Learn about the breath ( http://sahej.com/yoga-and-the-breath.html ) and how to be comfortable with your body ( http://kundaliniyoga.org/kyt13.html ). Much of Yoga is about becoming comfortable with your innate spirituality...which is what you are. I have heard that various 3HO ashrams back in the early days did nothing but "Abdominal Strengthening series" for six straight months. Nabhi Kriya in "Transitions to a Heart Centered World" ( ) will accomplish the same thing. We need a foundation before we can build up and fully integrate the "upper" chakras in an organic way. Additionally, one's meditation and capacity to cut through subconscious belief systems will never be strong unless they do the proper groundwork.
