Guest guest
The reason those hours are best, sunrise and sunset, is that the energy of the planet is changing as it goes from dark to light and vice versa. By meditating during those changes (or performing some spiritual practice) you are adjusting your psyche to handle the changes and benefit from them. The most noticeable disadvantage is when I (totally by accident) sleep through the sunrise! I can't tell you the amount of bad dreams I have in that period or how off kilter my day feels afterwards. Even if you are doing something simple like reading a holy book in that time space you will find benefits you never dreamed of! Sat Naam Even though I was taught West is the least auspicious direction for meditation, I do like facing the direction of the Sun for Yoga. I practice facing the sunset in the evening -- I have a gorgeous Western view through bay windows in my place and on my roof! One reason for this, is the hours of 4 - 6PM have similar qualities as the same AM hours so is the second best time for sadhana. ===== KartaPurkh S Khalsa God is a verb, not a noun.--Buckminster Fuller Protect your identity with Mail AddressGuard http://antispam./whatsnewfree
Guest guest
Sat Nam All, No one had any experience with kundalini yoga and seizures? Talking with my student, I found that he was listening to an Om tape and getting a lot of efficiency out of studying through the meditative atmosphere. The first grand mal seizure began with that stress of studying during that period. Yogi Bajhan has talks on the "sensitive body," which I have never been able to attend. Possibly those talks apply?? I am feeling that staying very grounded and in touch with one's feelings (physical and emotional) are key to anyone's practice, but particularly for this student.
