Guest guest
I wonder if anyone can assist. I have started kundalini yoga twice and given up because I find it too exhausting, especially as I have to do it very early or very late in the day to avoid my young children. I also do shift-work which further complicates things. Presumably the answer is to do fewer kriyas/do it for less time ? Trouble with that is one's natural urge to, perhaps, overdo things, so as to get more benefit from it. It's like a vicious circle, the more tired you are from work and family duties, the more yoga you try to do, the more exhausting you find it. Living in the UK ther climate isn't conducive to getting out into the garden, especialy in November. Is there a recommended introductory approach that someone in similar circumstances has benefitted from ? I know kundalini yoga is the answer to my constant feeling of tiredness, but I am desparate to find the right path. Kindest regards ..............Simon
Guest guest
Shakti Parwha Kaur says all you really need to do is lean in the right direction, and you are doing yoga! Even 3 minutes of pranayama, spinal flexes, and/or a self healing meditation in this tradition is powerful enough to get the benefits of a complete yoga practice when you don't have the opportunity to do a full set. There are many shorter kriyas consisting of one to three or four exercises. I mentioned one of my favorites in a recent post, the Hips, thighs, legs set which only takes about 10 minutes or less. I do it often before meditating, before Hatha yoga, and when I don't have much time. Also the 3-exercise Aura building set takes about 10-15 minutes, and it ROCKS! And of course, there is Sat Kriya. Considered the only kriya you really need, it is such a complete & powerful practice. It is said that "Sat Kriya can stand alone like a precious gem." Start with just 3 little minutes and work your way up slowly when you have more time.
