Guest guest
As far as i know know pasta contains a lot of atarch (someone please correct me if i am wrong). And eating big doses of starch foods such as pasta, rice and potatoes, etc. is good for a very active lifestyle. If you dont expend a lot of energy throughout the day through such as physical work, physical excercise and activity. Then it will build up and turn to fat. if you have a verry active lifestyle you should get more starches if you dont you wont burn them and they will be converted to fat. So the amount you ingest should directly relate to how much energy your body uses on a given day.
Guest guest
Sat Nam Marco, I would suggest to be guided by 3 things - common sense, your tastebuds and the joy of eating. First of all - whatever serves you to feel good, is good. If you like eating spaghetti, simply eat them. But balance your diet - eat of everything in moderate and appropriate quantities and qualities. According to the ayurvedic science you need to satisfy all tastebuds and balance your food according to your dosha - not every diet servers everybody in the same way. Find your own way. Finally, eating is (at least for me) more than just filling the stomach with some energy to digest. I really enjoy once in a while the nice Sunday evenings with my wife, having a bowl of spaghetti al dente with a good home-made sugo (you know, the one simmered for hours on the stove made out of fresh pomodore, garlic and olive oil...), eating some salad, enjoying a glass (sometimes even two) of delicious red wine and listening to some music of Eros Ramazotti, while the room is lit only by candles.... You get the point ? Eating is a feast for the senses and feeds not only the physical body. Be conscious about it. And you have just performed another yoga-exercise ;-) Hmm, getting hungry now. So to make it simple - enjoy live! Choose well, eat well, chew well and have fun! Blessings from Shanghai, Adarsh S.
