Guest guest
Sat Nam Thank you so much for your reply and information. I am classified as having "major depression". and I am alittle frightened because I am in menopause now.. Today I will see my doctor and discuss with him about weaning me off this drug. I believe in leaps of faith, especially when there are good people who have taken them already. Thank you so much for your support. Many Blessings Lynne
Guest guest
I was really hoping out of all of the thousands of people on here, if they knew or had any comments on... medication like paxil, buspar, xanax, drugs for depression and anxiety, autism, etc... would slow down the effects of Kundalini. I know someone is out there with an answer. (waits);
Guest guest
Dear Erik, For too many years I unwittingly relied on the "psycho-therapeutic profession" to cure me of a numbing, devastating depression. With no good effect whatever. Since I - through God's grace I must say - came to Kundalini Yoga as taught by Yogi Bhajan, my "depression" vanished, never to return. That was about 20 years ago. Even some Kundalini Yoga practitioners are not cognizant of the dangers of the psychoactive drugs. I would *strongly* urge that you seek out some information on the drugs you mentioned. Psychoactive drugs have severe effects. Recent studies have shown that placebos achieve better results. If you would like some information please contact me off-list. My knowledge is based on scientific research, not acedote. I am a researcher in the field, but would rather provide material to you privately. Best wishes, Ellen In Kundaliniyoga, "Erik" <erikyuncker> wrote: > I was really hoping out of all of the thousands of people on here, if > they knew or had any comments on... > > medication like paxil, buspar, xanax, drugs for depression and > anxiety, autism, etc... would slow down the effects of Kundalini. > > I know someone is out there with an answer. > > (waits);
Guest guest
Erik: You might want to consider having your neurotransmitters tested. Balance of brain neurotransmitters is crucial for good mental health. Two companies offering test kits are: www.neuroreplete.com www.neuroscienceinc.com You will have to contact a licensed professional to get these kits and the products. Also, you might want to check out Dharma Singh Khalsa's books on brain health and meditation for healing. He is a medical doctor and kundalini yoga practitioner. Best wishes. Guest guest
I have many patients at the clinic where I work who are on anti- depressents. Everyone says the same thing: "it causes me to lose touch with my essence." That should be a warning to all. - -- In Kundaliniyoga, "Erik" <erikyuncker> wrote: > I was really hoping out of all of the thousands of people on here, if > they knew or had any comments on... > > medication like paxil, buspar, xanax, drugs for depression and > anxiety, autism, etc... would slow down the effects of Kundalini. > > I know someone is out there with an answer. > > (waits);

Guest guest
It is sad how man tries to make that which is able to control a brain that they do not even understand as of yet. Guest guest
Sat Nam, By essence we mean the inner being, the conciousness or soul, what is at the heart of you, however you want to talk about it. The normal protocol for anti-depressants is no more than a year - reavaluate after six months. No anti-depressant has ever had drug trials for long term use. However, studies of long term use of serotonin uptake inhibitors (like prozac) has shown possible dangerous side-effects, mainly related to parkinson or scizophrenia like syndromes. This information has been largely suppressed by pharmaceutical companies, and even mental health institutions because they rely on pharmaceutical companies for funding. If you do not have a relevent biologically based chemical imbalance (few people have this otherwise they would have signs of other ailments not related to depression) the drug should never be used long term. Most people have to detoxify from the anti-depressant. Despite what the doctor and the pharmaceutical company will tell you, these drugs are highly addictive. Also, the emotional freeze they give some people is also highly addictive. However it is these feelings which connect us to our essence, our center, and when pharmaceutically frozen, encapsulate that center, stealing away our true heart. By looking at what the depression, and the symptoms, is actually trying to say to you and taking heed of that, you can unravel the depression. From a purely biochemical point of view, L-Tryptophan, 5- HRT, Vit B-6 and SAM-e are all part of the chain involved in Serotonin uptake. Usually, supplementing with one of those for a few months will take care of the biochemical side because that is where the problem really is. B-6, 250mg per day, is the safest place to start. Take the Homeopathic Nux Vomica, do kundalini Yoga and get a massage every day when you go off the drug. Even better, take the drug, grind it up and dissolve it in a little alcohol and water. Then make it into a homeopathic remedy. Not only will that detoxify you from the drug,it will do what the drug does without the side effects - if you really do need the drug (usually unlikely, biochemically speaking.) Hope this helps. But if you don't mind me saying, don't waste another day of your life with this little pill. There is some great books about the prozac conspiracy and there is some great people around that can help you without you having to sell your soul so the richest, most powerful industry in the world can make a few more bucks. - In Kundaliniyoga, Lynne Artino <lynne560@j...> wrote: > Hi > I have been on prozaz for 12 years now. > I would like more information on this. > I too would like to know my "essence" > Please advise where to go for this info. > Sat Nam > Lynne

Guest guest
I was on anti-depressants for a little while. I found that my yoga practice was just as effective as anti-depressants, so I got off them. However, I was not only doing Yoga but spent much of my day in spiritual practice, looking for opportunities for growth in all areas, especially relationships. Taking Zoloft enabled me to get out of bed and have the desire to change, which I do not feel I could have done without it. Therefore, it was an aid not a magic pill. It is our responsibility to use drugs wisely and not become dependent, because there will always be a doctor out there to prescribe more drugs. I work for a mental health clinic and from what I have learned anti-depressants are for short-term use, six months to a year. We have to help our self along the way, not rely on a pill to fix our life or spirit. In answer to your question Erik, I was still able to have profound experiences with Yoga, and was still in touch with my essence. I believe it depends on each person, his or her dedication, and the amount and duration on anti-depressants.
