Guest guest
Sat Nam, my partner and I are new to Kundalini Yoga and at the same time are newly attending a Spritualist church as we have an interest in all things spiritual. Some of the mediums at the church say that Kundalini yoga can open a person up to unwanted spirits and recommend saying an opening and closing prayer before each session. We always start our yoga sessions with the Adi Mantra and close with the "May the Long Time Sun Shine Upon You..." verse but I am not sure that this is sufficient. Does anybody else have experience or an interest in spiritualism and know of more suitable opening and closing mantras? Guest guest
Sat Nam John, The Adi Mantra is your link to the Golden Chain of consciousness...so nothing more is required...there is a protective mantra we can chant after the adi 3 times if you like...but it is not because we fear unwanted spirits entering our scene...it goes like this Aad guray nameh jugaad guray nameh Sat guray nameh Siri guru Dev (hay) nameh I believe most people's fear of working with the kundalini energy comes from not understanding the healing process...and what we think are "possessions" (if you like)...is just our own inner craziness rising up to the surface to be let go of and healed, when we embark on a powerfully healing practice such as kundalini Yoga.. Just would like to reiterate a saying frm Madame Curie which goes "There is nothing in this world which needs to be feared it is only to be understood".
