Guest guest
Hi! I'm new to this group (just signed up!). I just have a couple of questions about KY and Yogi Bhajan. 1 - I've been doing some research about KY, and have found it to be highly influenced by Sikhism. (At least, Yogi Bhajan's KY). Now, I'm not saying that it is something wrong that most of the theory is based on Sikhism (in my view, it's one of the best religion out there.) But, how would a Muslim, a Jew, or a Christian be able to believe that God is within us and that it isn't a sin to practice KY? (This is just one example out of many that I could give.) 2 - I've been reading a lot about Yoga (Viniyoga, Kundalini, Hatha, Iyengar, etc.) and have always found it to be highly dependent upon the Guru. This means that the Guru's religion is important too. Now, this question is kinda linked to the first one. Why is Yogi Bhajan considered to be THE master of Kundalini Yoga? Now, I know he was the one to bring this yoga to the west and the one that was able to adapt this yoga for everyone. He also studied for many years under various masters, etc. But, when he will die, who will take his place as master? Will it be a Sikh or do all others that practice kundalini have a chance? 3 - Now this question is shorter. How can someone become a true master (Guru)? Does he need to become a Sikh, or is it just a question of attaining and maintaining samadhi and kundalini araisal? 4 - How can a Sikh have a Guru other than the Shri Guru Granth Sahib? (Now, this question is not to be impolite, it's just that I haven't read anywhere that a Sikh could do this. If I have a wrong view, please tell me and explain why.) 5 - Is Yogi Bhajan considered human as us or more than human? 6 - Must we consider everything Yogi Bhajan says to be "holy and unchangeable" or may we come to our own conclusions based on our own beliefs and experiences? (By this, I mean the theory behind the yoga, etc.) Thank you very much for your patience. I hope that these questions will not seem rude or threatening in any way. I have sincere respect for Yogi Bhajan and the KY practitioners and teachers. These are just questions I feel I need to ask before embarking on a journey that will ultimately be fruitful in many ways. (I hope so.) Thank you again. Guest guest
* God is knowledge, not belief. * religions are same as going back home, you have more than one road back home, still all take you home. the essential is going back home not on which trail. sat nam nabil rizqallah beirut , lebanon

Guest guest
Dear Lim In essence all religions are the same, the differences, if any, lie in the expression & civilizations: *Jesus addressed, in "aramaiik", the Jewish community of the eastern Mediterranean, *Mohammad addressed, in Arabic, the desert nomads, *Catholicism addressed, in Latin, the Europeans, the message in essence was the same: *to nurture spirituality at the expenses of mater, because many of these communities were very materialistic (paganism). Religions have, their respective way of praying, very much related to their civilizations (some christians say "Holy Gost", some others "Holy Spirit"). Human Being is a product of spirit & mater. all great masters teach to nurture the spirit embryo in you. It is as simple as that, there is neither mysteries nor complicated un-understandable philosophies. when you pray (in any religion or language), should you pray well, you are celestially connected. the essential is to pray, not to pertain to a specific religion (this is politics) Where your MIND is, your ENERGY is. *KY trains your mind to master your energy. *KY trains you to develop & balance your energy system (chakras). Yogi Bhagan (Gururatan Kaur, I dont know if I may) wants you well grounded, well rooted, before going celestial. to be total "human being", e.i: grounded & celestial, you have to break free from all restrictions, bounds &, bonds. for that, KY is a good mechanism. I owe respects & gratitude to all those who made KY available to me.
