Does Kundalini Yoga Develop Physic Powers?

This is a great question...with many answers! The great power stemming from

yoga of course is liberation (which is the blissful union of Shiva and Shakti)

which we are all seeking. The paranormal powers that come along with any yoga

practice are called siddhis. Tantra and Yoga recognize eight maha-siddhis (or

great powers).

1. Anima-atomization

2. Mahima-magnification

3. Laghima-levitation

4. Prapti-extension

5. Prakamya-will

6. Vashitva-mastery

7. Ishitriva-lordship

8. Kamavasayitva-desire fulfillment

 

There are other lesser powers mentioned in the Damara Tantra. The

Yoga-Shikha-Upanishad speaks of the deathless, lucid body invisable even to the

deities;

with the ability of shape-shifting. Hopefully the paranormal powers (physic

powers hold a negative connotation for many of us) we are open to are not looked

upon lightly or in a playful way. The energy of the Shakti is too great to

play with! and the siddhis are simply manifestations of the Divine Power.

 

As you continue along the path of your sadhana a great many experiences will

open up for you. Keep your eyes on God and keep up! But we must be diligent in

our study and practice of Kundalini Yoga. It would probably be a good idea to

familiarize yourself with some of the ancient texts.

available thru internet ?

Also where can I find studies about the maha-siddhis you mentioned ?
