Guest guest Posted January 8, 2004 Report Share Posted January 8, 2004 Sat Nam Jean Had a problem with the mantras as well...had this "superstitious" believe that you are calling some evil entities to you by repeating any kind of strange sounds....including the ones used in karate. Started by leaving the mantras out or making up my own as I needed something to concentrate my mind on. Bought a CD with Himalayan chants in some "unconscious" moment and enjoyed it so much that I played it until the CD got stuck too much to listen to it anymore. Bought a lot of CD's after that and can even sing along with some of it. If you can just get over the religious block and listen to the mantras on CD you will find how uplifting it can be. Thought if priests can chant in Latin why can't we chant in whatever language we like. Kids get use to Mother singing strange words.
