Yoga for insomnia

Does anyone have a good set or pranayama for insomnia? Even something to

get the mind into a restful state for sleep would be helpful.

Thank you for any suggestions.

Dear Margaret,

I noticed that no one has answered your question yet. Have you done a

search thru the archives, because I know that there have been some

posts on the subject. (I noticed your question cuz I sometimes have

insomnia.) Also if you search thru the Kundalini Course which is

available thru the web site, I'm sure there is something there for

insomnia. If all else fails, post your question again, bec I know

there are some sets for insomnia, I just don't recall what they are.

Sat Nam Margaret,

The Kriya to conquer sleep will eliminate all sleep problems.

It can be found in the Sadhana Guidelines manual and is one of my favourites.

Also you can try Platform pose with breath of fire for five minutes then rest

for five minutes. Repeat this cycle three times for a total of 15 minutes of

platform pose and fifteen minutes of rest. You will in all likelyhood sleep

right there where you are.

Have a good one.

Sincerely yours

Sat Naam

There is a kriya called "Kriya for Conquering Sleep" -- It is in the manual

Sadhana Guidelines/Gurucharan Singh and it is also available on the 3HO.org

site. Go to www.3HO.org, click on Find a Yoga set or Meditation and look for

"Easy Yoga for Restful Sleep" to get it!

Sweet dreams

Sat Nam,

Try the "Kriya for Conquering Sleep" in the Kundalini Yoga/Sadhana Guidelines

Manual, page 77. Also, the "Shabad Kriya Meditation" in the Kundalini

Meditation

Manual for Intermediate Students is excellent to do just before bed. Also

great to do just before bed is back platform pose. Gradually build it up to

seven minutes and do it for that long just before bed; you'll be lucky

afterwards

if you can stay awake long enough to get into bed.
