Guest guest
My name is Debbie....I'm 45 & had a spontaneous kundalini awakening that started on July 23, 2000. Being a backsliding independent fundamental Baptist at that time...it took me well over a year to discover what had actually happened. I've worked in the psychiatric community since I was 17 years old, so I knew what telling anyone about it....would get me (a prescription for lithium)...so I somehow muddled through the process whilst working 2 jobs. Now...over 3 years later, I'm the director of nurses at a 146 bed psychiatric facility. I also recieved Reiki I & II attunement about a year ago. I live 80 miles South of Chicago...in a community which is relatively VOID of New Age concepts. To my amazement I've found Kundalini Yoga classes starting at the local park district. I start on Jan. 20....& can't wait. I can't say that I experienced anything "negative" physically during my original experience. I definitely became claircognizant. My "infusion" of spiritual awareness led me quickly to the Urantia Book & I've become actively involved with the people who print the book. Well...that's me for now. I joined this group a bit ago...& hadn't posted yet. Looking forward to a BALANCED NEW YEAR!!!!!!!!!!!!! NAMASTE.... Deb
Guest guest
Welcome Deb, thanks for taking the time to introduce yourself and relate the story of your spontaneous Kundalini Awakening. I am an amateur astrologer and am consistently amazed by stories of people between the ages of roughly 39-43 years of age that have this "spontaneous" experience because there is actually an astrological correlate. It is called the Uranus opposition and it occurs for everyone sometime between the ages of roughly 39-43. Uranus is the planet that rules the attributes of abstract thinking, high-level neuro-circuitry and, what else, Kundalini, just to name a few. What usually happens, it seems, is that we as humans, have something preprogrammed into out DNA structure that automatically activates this spontaneous awakening when we reach our Uranus opposition. Often times it is glossed over and just called a "mid-life crisis", but in fact something truly unique is occuring. We are awakening to our Inner-Self. For those who have been doing the groundwork for this awakening, it can be an incredible time of growth and "rewiring". For those who have not, it can be a little more difficult depending on the level of consciousness from which you normally operate. This time of life also correlates with other traditions (Kabbala for one) in which it is believed that people were not ready to receive certain teachings until they had reached the age of 40. If you are interested in more information on this subject of the Uranus opposition and the spontaneous awakeing of the Kundalini energy I suggest you read the book Liquid Light of Sex: Kundalini, Astrology, and the Key Life Transitions by Barbara Hand Clow . Good Luck starting your new Yoga class and welcome to the group! Adesh Singh
